Ark and Providence Texture Change in 119.3

Has anyone else noticed the change to the Ark and Providence textures in this recent patch? Previously the underside of the ships were constructed of a dark brown-black metal, befitting an exposed industrial ship. The recent change has applied to general amarr base armor plate white, and the sarum red variation to the entire model, making them very homogenous and uninteresting. It seems like such a change was deliberate, as I'm not certain how such a specific change could be done by accident. So I ask why was this done or why it was not included in patch notes?

EDIT: For some reason this got posted in Features and Ideas, didn't mean to post it here. w/e

I noticed this as well and especially on the Ark I find it tacky and repulsive. They also changed other ships like the Crusader which has now less gold accent elements and more grey goo spread over the ship. They changed several things without mentioning this in the patch notes. For instance, Khanid ships now have a darker black and shinier silver accents.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

They gave Ventures blue accenting as well - I really don't like that. The only thing I like about the new models are the Cormorant ones and the fact I can zoom in without things getting really ugly.

It's not actually *that* hard to mess with a texture mapping by accident. Generally for something like Eve's setup it's going to be a matter of a few pointers to what color or texture should cover a specific area getting flipped.

That doesn't really seem like what's happened here though. I don't have anything to compare with but the undersides of these ships seem to have gotten a lot more detail added to their textures, rather than just having the old uniform grey overwritten entirely it seems to have been intentionally applied to specific areas of the underside and some more texture detail added.

IMO it doesn't look bad, and kinda matches the Amarr philosophy. They've gone and painted the underside of an industrial ship, and it's clearly gotten dirty and smudged, but they painted it white anyways because Amarr... lol. Just takes a bit of getting used to, and some of the SKINs look better with it compared to the old matte coloring IMO.

Anyways, you can file a bug report and wait and see. Probably worth the 5 minutes if you dislike the change that much.

No, exactly not because Amarr. What they have done to the Providence/Ark goes counter what Amarr ships look like. With only very few exceptions, Amarr ships have a blackish base color that covers the inner parts of the ships, a sand-tone color (for T1 ships, T2 have these parts in their manufacturers' colors) that is for the main armor plates and the gold color for accents. Prime examples are the Maller, Devoter, Apocalypse and Abaddon, which follow this pattern. On the freighters, however, CCP almost completely removed the black parts, on the Crusader they almost completely removed the golden accents.

Mash F12 in-game and submit a bug report.

Then be patient as it is a pretty low-priority thing.
