Data and Relic Site Hacking Upgrades

While connected to a Data or Relic network the counter hack should become more aggressive and actually attack the Capsuleer's ship. If a Capsuleer encounters an Interface Network Node while hacking the defenses of the sites network will begin to attack various systems of the ships causing damage that would take place due to over heating a module.

The INN would also affect systems such as the cargo bay where the counter hack might just eject your 100 million ISK cargo into space.

Another example would be your warp drive is infected causing you to drop out of warp and then enter back into warp again or that your cloak won't work or you warp off to a random planet or belt. Another infection could cause your ship to start using cap boosters or suddenly take away from the site at a high rate of velocity.

INN would try to find the systems of the Capsuleer's ships such as the Probe Launcher, Data, Relic , Ligature and Zeugma Analyzers to infect. Once infected and the more times the Capsuleer's use them would eventually cause the modules to offline and would need replaced.

An infected systems monitor would be part of the probe screen to alert the Capsuleer which system has been affected. The systems could be repaired at a station if the systems do not cross over a infected threshold of not being able to be recovered.

The game itself would also have a few new additions such as Seeker Nodes that once discovered would deploy miniature Seeker Drones that would hunt down Utility Sub-systems that have been discovered as well as Data-Cache's that have not been uncovered.

The Seeker Drone will remain active as long as it does not encounter a Sub-System Utility, uncovered or covered Data Cache or defensive system that is not INN system. If the Seeker Drone encounters any defensive system other than the INN the system will absorb the Seeker and increase the coherence and strength of the system by 5, 10 or 15 depending in the flavor of the Seeker Drone.

If the Seeker Drone encounters the Capsuleer's I/O Port used to connect to the site network it will begin to hack the Capsuleer's ship calling the rest of the deployed Seeker Drones to the port. Each Seeker Drone would then infect the Capsuleer's ship with 10, 20 or 40 points of system infection for the duration of the hack attempt. If the Capsuleer's ship encounters 200 points of infection then the modules of the ship will start to become damaged until the Core or INN Node is destroyed or the ship moves away from the site being hacked thus effectively breaking the link. If the ship moves away from the site being hacked the site will explode and no longer be available to hack.

Once a Sub-system utility or covered Data Cache has been found the Seeker Drones would begin to assimilate the node. Once assimilated the Node becomes a new defensive sub-system.

The Capsuleer would have Nano Bot's that could be deployed as a defense against the Seeker Drones. The Capsuleer would have three Nano Bots to deploy at any node that would cost 5 Coherence for each bot placement. After five turns the Nano Bot dissolves and the node is able to be accessed by the Seeker Drone. If a Seeker Drone encounters a Nano Bot the Seeker Drone recognizes the bot as being a closed node and simply goes in another direction.


The old exploration ships can still be used but a new type of exploration ship would have to be developed in order to defend against the new network defenses.

Risk versus Benefit Factor:

High Sector sites would have more Faction NPC's guarding the sites that would have to be taken out.

Low and Null sites would allow insta warp to the sites once it had been probed down and warped to the first time.

Increased number of non-producible items such as High-Tech Data Chips, High-Tech Scanners , High Tech Manufacturing Tools and Special Permits that allow limited production runs using Planetary Infrastructure to manufacture items such as High-Tech Data Chips.

Lol sure why not, I don't have enough useless blood microwave s since that's the only thing they drop now apparently from the last 20 I've killed. I don't mind increased odds of faction mods
