I don't get why they do this for video games
I can understand people putting a red cross on things that don't have medical supplies in them, but for games it doesn't make sense

There was a single line item in the patch notes that they changed it because of the Geneva Convention.

I suspect they got a letter though. Due to how long it took them to get around to it. According to that video I linked the Red Cross are rather nice about it. They aren't all sue happy like some.

The Red Cross can loose their trademark (depending on local laws) if they fail to enforce it.

Sending a letter is enforcing it. If the letter doesn't work I am sure they would take legal action.

The trade mark they have is a green cross and a green leaf, totally different and not protected by international agreements like the Geneva Convention. So nothing to worry about.

The Red Cross usage is more than just a trade mark issue.

This 150 percent. I play Prison Architect too and they sent them a letter because an ambulance shows up in the game with a red cross on it..... I am really unsure how a red cross in a video game could confuse anyone in real life or somehow make the cross less important when used in war time... But hey it's something to do... right??

Red cross have been getting pissy about it when it comes to video games. Funnily TF2 and Valve haven't been affected but that's because they have more money than god.
