Permanent skins to be unlocked account wide when used. Less cash grabby that way? Just a thought.

Why on earth would CCP make a change that directly causes them to make less money?

No poors.

Fake edit: SKINS, and pretty much everything else, are linked to characters not accounts. Given you can trade characters, it seems problematic to enforce such a thing, not to mention less profitable for a CCP.

If you don't like SKINs, don't buy them.

I support. That's a good idea.

As for the above ^ selling characters changes accounts and therefore the skins would be relocked upon transfer logically.
That's not a legitimate issue. New characters made on that account would already have purchased skins unlocked.

imho, CCP is actually not cash grabby already, i mean, look at the state of the EvE store. alot of people already suggested on the merchs that could be insta sold, but CCP is angry at our money.

I am sure it is technically possibly, but having items linked to accounts isn't how anything else works. There would need to be another UI where we see such things, and while skins have a tenuous claim on immersion, at least there is an in-game expaination of them in the virtual universe.

But really, my main objection just is it would be more confusing the way proposed in th OP, and I recognize that CCP prefers the current system which will sell more. Having some special skin or other vanity item linked to an account wouldn't break things, but I think it better that most skins are tradable, in-game items that are linked to our characters, not our accounts.

Game developers make tens & often hundreds of millions on microtransactions alone, even from single titles. I am sure CCP does just fine (especially CCP in fact, with the nature of PLEX, skill injectors, etc), which would mean a simple interface that would allow for 'Collections' of unlockable & untradeable skins to be recycled on different characters would be a harmless addition into the game.

Skins aren't exactly an extraordinarily lucrative market to begin with, especially since the majority of skins aren't up for sale anyway (as is noticeable when you browse for skins in the market).

I don't agree with that either. Eve is subscription based. There shouldn't even be a microtransaction store. They already get $20 a month from people now. It used to be $15.
Everything in game should be free by using isk and gotten as drops. If they want to make the game totally free make everyone omega and out more put stuff in New Eden store. If they want it to be subscription get rid of the store altogether.
This is was ea tried to do with dead space 3 and its still just as disgusting as when ea did it.

What are you talking about? A subscription is $15/mo for one month and $11/mo for an annual subscription.

Agreed. subscription accounts should have account wide unlock, free accounts should be locked to per character basis. Makes purchasing a subscription account more enticing, if aiming to customize multiple characters.
