Quote:
HATAKANI - Executives from Kaalakiota, Sukuuvestaa and CBD have walked out of Chief Executive Panel talks with the Federal government, after audio recordings were leaked in which a number of Gallente Senators criticised the ethics of forcing protestors in the State back to work.

While the identities of the senators involved are unknown at this time, it is known that questions were raised about the unethical treatment of the workforce in the State, after those protesting against conditions on Oijanen II were forced back to work by the enactment of employment contract clauses prohibiting employee involvement in civil unrest.

The audio recording also made unconfirmed mentions of an apparent Federal Intelligence Office investigation into missing Kaalakiota employee Jaron Kasaras.

The talks have now been closed aboard the CONCORD Bureau in orbit of Hatakani VI, after the remaining members of the Chief Executive Panel departed a little over an hour ago, citing lack of a majority presence of CEP members required for decision making.

Requests for comment from the Senate have been met with silence, however the Press Office for Lai Dai quoted Alakoni Ishanoya, their Chief Executive, as describing the talks as a "complete circus, designed to detract from the real issue of Federal interference in State affairs."

I am honestly vexed with this development, when I see that our superiors have stepped on the rake again. Making such summit in the first place was a mistake.

It is crystal clear now why you don't do diplomacy with gallente: even at that level they dared to put their nose into our internal affair that they have no business with. We will not allow Federal scum to intervene into our affairs and tell us how we should deal with our protesters and dissenters. Their amoral attempt at bullying us for our internal politics is a sign of their degrading and offensive society.

We already have war with the Federation, and while they display their inability in civilized behavior and diplomacy, we shall just keep shooting at them.

Yet another example of some Gallente being constitutionally incapable of setting aside their fetish for telling people how to run their lives - even when the stakes are as high as this.

There will be no normalisation of relations until and unless they can smother their instinct to dictate to us.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Unfortunately they don't just tell it - they try to enforce it with weapons. Isn't it the reason of both our wars with them, one that happened 200 years ago and second one that started 8 years ago. And I see only one solution to stop this. The Federation must be destroyed.

I remain convinced that we can get past this roadblock to peaceful relations - but I'm not sure how. Perhaps the problem is that the Senate itself is just too damn big, and the Senators far too interested in political grandstanding to support their upcoming re-election campaigns.

It's why I could never participate in an indirect democracy like the Federation. I want my representatives to be focused on securing their positions through performance - not theatre.

If this ploy were any more transparent, it would be a Mannar shirt.

The FIO has some house cleaning to do.

And anyone who acts like this is a surprise, and that we didn't already know the Federation tut-tuts at every opportunity, is either looking for excuses, or an idiot. Really, who the hell cares if some wined up senators shot off their mouths behind closed doors?

The big concern is that it got out...

AT THE WORST POSSIBLE TIME.

Use your heads. Someone played on pride. And it worked.

You hit the nail on the head.

Who do you think benefits from this leak? The FIO are the top intelligence agency in the cluster, leaks like this don't just happen.

Comments of some random senators can create chaos, that's new to Caldari it seems.

The majority of that article is just tripe and posturing.

The only worthwhile statement:

Whatever happened, the FIO doesn't know, either.

It's all theater, on both sides, right now, kirjuun. But I'm glad to see you haven't thrown in the towel. Come talk with me sometime soon, yeah? Been a bit.

Unrelated.

Besides, any FIO "investigator" who would dare to put their dirty swine noses into KK affairs should be dealt with, better by use of excessive firepower.

You would have to know they are there first. I suspect you lack the required intel to know how, when, and where they operate.

Sshhh. Speaking an opinion is 'dictatorship', don't you know? Now, if they'd waged war and so on, it would just be 'honorable' I'm sure.

To be fair, they are. No matter which way you slice it, these unnamed Senators are telling Caldari CEOs to do something. Namely not treat citizens in a way that these Senators do not like.

It's a case of telling someone to do x, what x is is irrelevant given the point is that they are telling someone to do x. That is the definition of dictation. To dictate, to instruct. You can meta this how you like, but this is what it ultimately boils down to.

This is really the core issue between Gallente and Caldari.

Gallente: "People should be allowed to live how they wish."

Caldari: "We collectively wish to live as our ancestors did, and reject individualism. That's okay with you, right?"

Gallente: "Uh. Do you let individuals choose to live differently?"

Caldari: "Sure. They just have to go into exile and leave behind everything and everyone they know and love."

Gallente: "What?! No, that's not okay!"

Caldari: "You telling us it's not okay is not okay, OUTSIDER! Mind your own business!"

And so on.

I suppose this must be that 'perspective' thing that I've heard so much about.

To summarise, outsider opinions are neither sought nor welcomed.

That's a reality modern Caldari culture is largely built on forcefully rejecting, Miz. ... mostly, rejecting Gallentean opinions.

They've "come to terms" with all that by making their own country, fortifying it extremely heavily, limiting trade with the outside world, limiting cultural minorities like the Achura to their own isolated communities, engaging in a fairly flagrant campaign of eugenics in which partners are matched in arranged marriages largely on the basis of similar appearance (I have a theory they're trying to recreate some of Caldari Prime's "lost" bloodlines), and basically daring anybody and everybody to make an issue of it.
