You need not need the original key to slot into the lock. Just any metal stick with the right pins will do. Or in the case of the woman's nether region, you don't need pins either. You only need a stick of the right diameter.

Splinters tend to come from deadwood. As long as it's still live, strong, and has enough tree-goo in it to be supple, at most you're working about rough bark and a few knots.
