This is a confusing post. At first blush it's straight sarcasm.

But that would mean the poster actually liked the original neocom icons! I mean the original weird shit where you had to look at an icon for five minutes and then go: "Oh right, they are stick dudes in lab-coats looking at futuristic screens - this must be science and industry!".

The old neocom icons sucked balls. Good riddance!

Now, as the twat that completed a full set of instas for the Metropolis region about 4 days after their release by some other bastard, my money goes to warp to zero. Seriously, just look at Metropolis on Dotlan. It hurt - it was a massive fecking undertaking that earned me feck all.

The skill queue gets a medal, as does session change reduction.

Dessie buff in Crucible.

I'd made a new mining alt back then and put the new pilot in a Osprey (still a mining cruiser back then) just for fun in the middle of my mining ops while he was training for barges.

Turned out this was a gank magnet for all those gankers wanting to try out the new dessies. They didn't care to scout, just saw a new toon in a most likely yield fitted Osprey, warped into the belt and raced for the Osprey.

Too bad I always train for T2 tank first and actually fit one. Together with the Orca shield boost ehp was well above 20k. Busy days for Concord Lol.

Remove standings and insurance.

In no particular order:

Skill Queue

Approach a point in space

Ship and Module tiericide in general. Still going, still one of my favorite things CCP have ever done. Took 2/3rds at least of the ships in game and made them usable.

skill queue has to be #1

removal of learning skills was a pretty good move.

multibuy/multifit

honorable mentions, t1 ship tiericide (imo module tiericide has been mostly a waste), removal of standings for npc jump clones. warp to 0 would probably be up there, but I started just after that era.

1. Warp to 0. (Saves so much time)
2. Longer Skill Queue (no longer having to always time what skill your training to match when you would be near a computer to reset (okay, that went away a long time ago)
3. Buy all items from a blueprint at once.

Tiericide. Hasn't been perfect and already some of the goodness that came from Crucible and Retribution are lost. But before tiericide there was only a couple ships anyone flew. Sabres, Drakes, and maybe a Ceptor or two. Having ships with more sharply defined fleet roles and *some parity between them, led to a far more diversified fleet landscape. There will always be a core 'meta' that large fleet organizations will favor (usually because it has some stat that can be exploited till CCP takes notice) but today many more ships are viable for any given content or fleet role than when I started playing.
Also, while not every race can be 'best' in any given ship class or fleet role, you can play as a single race more easily now than ever before. My skills are a mess of this and that from years of 'chasing the meta' all over New Eden. But today you could even skip the empires altogether and fly only non-empire ships lines.

UI/Overview fixes. These often go uncelebrated but over the years the UI has gotten far far better. The new map took getting used to but is highly functional. Many functions have been made more efficient and UI customization has increased to suit one's specific needs. Sharing an Overview is incredibly useful, especially to new players.

Citadels. I don't even know much about them because I am just a lowly grunt. But they are changing the very core of Eve and that is a good thing, IMO. It's an evolution in progress and it's exciting to see the currents and eddies of how the game flows over time.
