Salvage drones going wonky.

Say I've cleared a mission. I put my salvage drones in space, right click the group and select 'salvage'. If I do nothing else, all works (slowly) fine. They hit a nearby wreck, probably the nearest or one of the nearest, then eventually take it down.

Most importantly, they automatically move on to the next one.

One problem I've had however is when I start salvaging, additionally, from my high slot salvager mods.

It seems that if I salvage a wreck that my drones were working on, they go idle instead of moving on to the next wreck.

Is this intended behavior?

I haven't seen that happen. I'm often able to use auto-salvaging drones and salvagers on the same target.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

When you tell them to salvage you can not have any wrecks targeted otherwise it's a command to salvage that wreck. This causes them to stop afterwards. If you have no wrecks targeted the command has them salvage until there is no more wrecks.

You, sir, are my hero. Thanks. While I can't confirm it yet, I'm 99.9% sure that's exactly what's happening. Thank you!

Actually, that's not entirely true. You can have any number of wrecks locked - you just need to have another locked target within your drone range selected when you hit drone engage. It could be a structure, hostile NPC - anything. It just can't be a wreck or your salvage drones will only 'auto' salvage that wreck then stand around looking clueless.
