Noctis Balance Pass
Just a few QOL improvements - nothing major.
• The addition of a 5000m3 Fleet Hangar
• Reduction in align time from 13s to 10s

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Because as a salvager it should have more cargo capacity, and a 5000m3 Fleet Hangar accomplishes this. It's also a tad sluggish, so with the improvement to the align time - the Noctis can be fit to be more defensive or agile (depending on application). These aren't huge changes and don't really effect the outlying salvage capability of the Noctis.

Why a fleet hangar though? Why not just regular cargo capacity?

- You must salvage a lot at once. Ever since cap booster charges were taken out of missions I've never gotten close to filling my noctis. In fact, why do i have cargo expanders in there still...? Do others run out of space much?

- You can get a 10second align time with an mwd btw.

Because a fleet hangar can't be boosted by rigs or modules, so while it gives it a buff to cargo capacity it's not an absurd one that can be abused.

I'm okay with the fleet hanger but no need for the agi buff aging the fleet hanger more than compensates for drooping an expander and adding a stab

It ahould be able to align at least as fast as a battleship.

Since my Noctis isn't much suited for nullsec, I gave the Sunesis destroyer a new purpose and when I go back to loot and salvage a DED complex with 4 or 5 rooms, a triple cargohold expander Sunesis with 1231m³ is not enough cargo in some cases.

I guess the Noctis would be fine there but even with 3x i-stabs the align time of 8.32 seconds can put you in a jam and a Noctis on d-scan just screams "gank-me-now".

With one expander the cargohold should be fine but I would rather have that ship have a little better agility so you can spend more time warping than waiting for that ship to turn and - oh shut the front door! sabre Sad

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

Hence the suggestion for a slight improvement to inertia.

Is there any point in cargo expanders? All anyone is interested in is special cargo bays it seems.

Not if it received a 500m3 Fleet Hangar, no.

Ever looted a Level 4 DED Blockade (gives you more than 3k m³ of loot) or stayed out in space looting dozens of Havens and Sanctums?

To the can't be boosted theory and perhaps the best reason to make this change would be as part of a process of defining a new role for the Noctis as a fleet salvage vessel.

No the OP is not my idea so I have no requirement to try and defend or explain it so that leaves me free to ask you to defend your statement, so why don't you tell us precisely why this would be bad for the game as a whole.

Because it's not well-suited to any kind of combat, so a fast align time is key. I'm not advocating for more slots or EHP. Just a fleet hanagar for storage and more maneuverability. It's not an unreasonable proposal - especially when you consider the massive buffs all the other industrial ORE ships have received.

It's a large slow salvaging ship. Why should a lack of combat abilities mean it should align quickly? By that logic we should make freighters align faster too.

It sacrifices agility, speed, etc. for the ability to salvage and tractor faster.
