Support Drones

I'm talking about the implementation of drones for:
1) Sensor boosting
2) Capacitor boosts
3) Tracking boosts

Other possibilities could be
-Missile boosts?
-Signature Reduction?
-Drone range, speed or targeting boosts?
-Speed, agility, or anti-web boosts?
-(The last 4 possibilities are less likely to be applicable so don't judge the idea too much on them but feel free to offer suggestions or support towards different types)

Yes I'm aware that most people still probably wouldn't use these, but I think they would have a lot more niche applications than most electronic warfare drones do. In fact you could probably replace the tracking disruption, sensor disruption and target painter drones with some of these since pretty much no one uses them. Only ECM drones seem to have any real value.

I think Drones that do extra support/logistic activities like this could be a valuable addition because they allow fleets to flexibly counter or resist types of ewar without specifically fitting a hard counter to it, and they can also offer supplement ability boosts for certain types of fleet doctrine.

Another great benefit to them over electronic warfare drones is that they do not need to travel to the enemy in order to deliver their effects. Range control is probably the most important aspect of eve battles. Not needing them to travel the 20-40 km to engage their effects upon a hostile is huge, and they can then operate within the relative safely within your own fleet, rather than suiciding towards the enemy.

Anyway, let me know if you think these would be more useful than most Ewar drones and if you could see these being implemented and used in a meaningful and balanced way.

they would still have the same issue as the e-war drones stacking penalties would make them useless....

A big difference then would be how it becomes more advantageous to use the more powerful large drones rather than smaller ones, because when using them on allies you do not need to worry about their travel speed as much.

In fact it may be beneficial to model them off the Gecko and use only a couple high powered versions rather than many smaller ones. Using them in this way would significantly decrease the stacking penalties.

travel times are not why they are not used

if you do that they would then become to powerful when used by larger groups of people.... thats why its not done this way on the e-war drones

So do you have any suggestions on how to make such a status support or hindering drone relevant? Leaving ECM drones as the only real alternative to damage or logi drones doesn't seem like a proper choice considering how many alternatives actually exist. In terms of this choice though, I think support drones would be a better choice than the current other alternatives.

They would get normal stacking penalties, making using more than 2 or 3 on any particular target useless, while also making using more powerful support mods useless. Would be more interesting as an anti-support mod (give your target a 2% boost so he can't get a friendly 25% boost.)

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.

I'd like support drones armed with sparkly pom poms and witty jingles please.
