Module position on the rack for the overheating

Hello, does the position of modules on the rack metter for the overheating? I am not sure because I have tested it with a sabre layouts like:

MWD, Scrambler, MSE, MSE
MWD, MSE, MSE, Scrambler
MWD, MSE, Scrambler, MSE

Ant the outcome is always the same: when I start overheating the MWD the Scrambler gets the most damage and the second MSE does not get any damage no matter what layout.

It's not the position on your rack. It's the position in your ship fitting window. You have to fit your modules in the slots you want them in; rearranging them on your rack does nothing. :)

I know that. So what I mean is the position on the fitting window. There was no difference.

It can be slightly beneficial to keep modules you overheat the most further apart from each other if you can but if you only have 4 mid slots, just keep an eye on the red ring that forms around the mod and other mods.

How many times did you run the test? There is random chance involved so it is possible that modules further away from the overheated module can take more damage than modules that are closer. If your sample size is fairly small, that could be why you're seeing anomalous results.

yup op! pay special attention how you dispose modules in your fitting window.
(you can pretty much test how overheat works just letting a module burning out and checking damage on the nearby modules on the fitting window)
