Usually they auto-reappear in your cargo, if not try undocking and "reconnect to lost probes". If this does not work, open a support ticket. But be aware that once the probes time out in space or see a server downtime, they are lost and there is no reimbursement.

EDIT: If your cargo hold is full and can't hold the probes auto-reappear will not work and you have to manually reconnect.

or this your moronic "USE NON-EXISTING OPTION RECONNECT TO LOST PROBES"

i see many other people sent similar complaints

File a bug report with the in-game tool. Posting about this issue here doesn't help you, since CCP isn't exactly reading this forum with religious fervor.

I haven't fully tested it myself but I think the general idea these days is that you're not supposed to be able to lose probes. For example, I believe it got changed a while back that when probes time out they now return to cargo rather than being lost. Supposedly unexpected disconnects can still cause them to be lost, and in Rookie Chat I occasionally see people claiming to have lost them (though often they've just been misplaced).

It's useful to carry 16 probes instead of just 8, since the auto-reload mechanic in Eve only works at the moment the launcher goes empty, so having 16 probes means there are 8 available to reload automatically at the moment you launch the first set, so you never have to worry about manually reloading the launcher.

The other reason of course is that if something bad does happen to your first set of probes, you have a backup.

And if you're lost in W-space and lose your probes I think you can still potentially beg Signal Cartel to bring you a replacement set if you get desperate.

People try to help me.

Instead I insult them and call them useless.

I see you will get far in EVE. After all, it is a single player game.

Your Non-Existing Option:

To be clear, it is in the upper right corner of the probe scanner window. Admittedly it is very easy to miss. I always have to search for it. But you would have found it you made the effort. Or asked about it.

The attitude you show in this post will not serve you well in this game. Or in life.

Probes only disapear if you start reload and dock to the citadel before reload finished. Happened to me few times. Not a bug - an issue. Just wait with docking into citadel untill reload is finished. For those unbelievers - probes do disapear, they are not in almost empty cargo, nor they are in space... So any "undock and reconnect " or other "reload and wait" will not help. You just have to be patient with reload and docking.

You don't even bother to scroll down the forums, there is a whole section just for technical issues, instead you post in GD.
Fly safe, you'll need it with that attitude.

Ummmm ... what?

The "Reconnect to Lost Probes" button is at the top-right of the probe pane.

You might not be seeing the probe pane, because it seems to be collapsed by default for some stupid reason. Click-hold-and-drag downward to near the top of the results pane, in order to expand the probe pane; if you look closely at the top of the results pane, you can see the horizontal bar that marks the bottom of the probe pane.

The probe pane is the only way I know of to activate and deactivate individual probes (or groups by holding SHIFT or CTRL and clicking to select), so that a single-probe system scan can be done to quickly ID signatures based on their relative size. I also use it to change probe range 'cause I'm old-skool (learned in 2009).

How to lose your probes these days:
You DC (they don't get auto pulled in) and you forget you had them out and don't recall them when coming back to the game.
When they get pulled in automatically (through gate jump, docking, etc.) Your cargo is full so they stay out in space and yet again you forget about them.
That's all i could think of :3

Yea. It happens. I've just returned 8 lost RSS probes using support ticket.
First time i docked before reload finished.
Second time i waited for launcher to reload and then docked. Still. Probes are nowhere.

It looks like this is known bug to CCP. Make a support ticket if you care (for me RSS probes worth the time and effort while Sisters don't).

I carry 16 probes so that my launcher reloads itself after I launch probes. So I am unfamiliar with the issue because I am a genius.

I love the responses in this thread. Ask a simple question and receive 9/10 replies to the effect of RTFM. I'm sure he got the same lacklustre response in the chat channel (which is probably why he posted here in the first place). Kudos to the one or two helpful individuals. The rest of you are a bloody pack of hyenas...
