citadels not repping drones

how do I make it happen? it worked before, but not anymore...
I am in range and there is the tether icon below my cap
my ship is 100%, so it is not that the ship is being repped
I moved to break invulnerability, as was suggested by someone in help chat
why does it not work? is it only certain kind of citadels that rep drones? are there other conditions for drones to be repped?
and they are indeed not repped, as I have checked several times while docked.
any ideas?

They get repaired when you launch them while tethered. But very slowly because it is an percentage and not a fixed amount that gets repaired.

did that a dozen times, and nothing happened.

Make sure to lock the drone to check.

The drone UI sometimes shows bogus amounts. [Expected to be fixed in March patch.]

locking the drone untethers me.
I am sure it was not repped, I docked at the citadel, tried to pack it and it said it was damaged.

yesterday, finally, it got repped. it happened at one of the citadels I tried before. I have no idea what I did differently, but for some reason it worked.
maybe it was because my ship was with armor damage, so the ship was being repped, and only in that case it reps the drones too?

when i have a damaged ship and drones i just sit tethered until the repair icon disappears

there is also a ui bug that show the drones being damaged still in my drone bay but when i launch them they are 100%

that was NOT what was happening. I said in the OP, that I docked and tried to repack, and it said the drone was damaged.

Then you did not get enough repairs. Citadels DO repair drones in the bays, it just takes time.

Unfortunately, without the UI displaying the repairs on the drones, you have to make a guess as to when they are repaired. In your case, you guessed wrong.

and no, I didnt guess wrong. I have stayed tethered long enough for a complete repair of several drones. it just was NOT happening.

LOL I did not even know that they could be repaired outside the drone bay.

I normally pull all of my drone and site there for a while and launch the most damaged one to check the repair status.

You didn't know about it because it doesn't exist. Drones are only repaired in the drone bay.
