People just like to see scammers and gankers feet burn. You entertained them I would say, either way, but now show is over and everyone leaves cinema, end credits roll. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

High sec is always nice, we have party, lots of people, great content, very good content. Null, not so much, ratting, empty systems, blueballing. High sec first, Null sec second, low sec in the middle?

Carebears and trolls are still a thing?

Firstly, carebears have teeth, they rule every game. Even in EVE. After all, you don't really die in EVE. We are all kept safe from that.

Secondly trolling. Everyone trolls, mostly unintentionally, because we are all so het up about getting offended, that anything counts as trolling. We are all as thick as trolls when it comes to the misunderstandings possible between us, especially in the text rooms like this forum.

We are all carebears and trolls, which means none of us are.

We just lie to ourselves and think we are the courageous lone wolves who tell the absolute truth.

Which I guess means we are all...

Carebears, trolls and liars.

Ah, good, some new lore. I was wondering if anyone would use a Star Wars reference, eventually. I have heard of it, and actually have read most of the Star Wars books, too. The Sith are, without a doubt, more honest and ethical than the stinking Jedi, when you get down to it.

The Jedi are the single greatest concentration of ill-will in the Star Wars Universe. They impose their will on others, in the name of 'the Force,' but the force is not like a deity, an independent, all-powerful agency with a particular set of morals. The force is just something you can tap, for power.

In that universe, the Sith are completely correct. Plagueis EXPECTED his apprentice to kill him, when it was possible to do so. Since the Sith only, ever, number two in that timeframe of Star Wars, they have to be the most powerful, best two. When a Master can be beaten by his apprentice, he has done his job, and done it well. It's time for the apprentice to become the master, and select his own apprentice.

And he knows the same thing is going to happen to him, too. The worse thing, is if you outlive your apprentice, of if he fails, and you kill him, because then you have to start it all over again... :P

Only comment I've got for this thread topic is that ISD should lock it asap..

Course some of the comments posted in this thread was liked for being entertaining, especially all of the 'Star Trek' links posted by Amojin.

I do try. And isn't that what you all pay for? To be amused? If you're not getting it in the game... A lot get it, here... I'm basically a real life version of that DiNozzo character in NCIS. I do love that guy, but yeah, I watched all this.

Why not enjoy it? Odds are, if you name something, I can find a clip. :P

a) The Code always wins. Always.

lol. Sorry, but everytime I see that I hear charlie sheen saying "WIN HERE WIN HERE WIN WIN EVERYWHERE"

Whatever one thinks of the codefolk, however, at least they are...catalyzing "movement" in EvE and that has to be good for the overall health of the game when players are causing things.

Bit of attention-seeking going on with the J315 game (shades of kardashians internet spaceships sometimes :D ), but you do you code.

This thread is conspicuously devoid of a few forum regulars.

I wonder why that is...

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

The problem with your proposition is that your content is very limited. You are talking about sandbox here? Why all your actions always boil down to aggression of other players?

People are different. It might be funny but some came into the game to fly spaceships or stare at Universe around. Some of us even just talk in chats (even heard of: chat with nice background?) Lol
The content is limitless - the sandbox is only bound by your imagination. I do agree the game could use some more conflict drivers and/or objectives, but you can attack or cooperate with the other players to do whatever you want.

You don't have to be an aggressor. You can be a builder. You can be like the Signal Cartel and be a bunch of pacifist explorers. Create some content anyway you'd like. Heck, this thread is about a giant head-fake about a theft that didn't occur - a player story that involved not a single round of antimatter being expended. Do whatever you like, even if that is just using Eve as a chat program.

That said, we all spend most of our time gathering, building and trading materials to make weapons of war. Therefore, some of that content has to be shooting and destroying each others' stuff and using those weapons of war. People need reasons to build stuff, and arming and re-arming sides of a fight is a great simulator of the economy and provider of purpose. Even if you prefer to be the arms maker or arms dealer, you need to have a demand for your product. I know that being the aggressor isn't everyone's cup of tea, but someone has to play that role and if you find yourself bored and bemoaning the game like our friend Dracvlad was back in this thread, give it a shot and pick a fight with someone. You'll be at least trying to make something happen in the sandbox which is better than everything just grinding to a halt and you stopping to log in.

Well spoken
