Federation Navy will shoot at you if your standing is below -5. It's virtually impossible for your personal standing to be that low in the time you have been playing the game. Possibly derived standing from the corporation you joined.

In lore, Gallente are at war with Caldari who are friends with Amarr. This is rarely an issue unless you join faction warfare. Gallente characters do business in Jita all the time.

There are good player corporations and not so good choices. I recommend that you complete the career missions for Gallente in Clellinon. There will likely be dozens of corporate advertisements in system and you can talk to people and see if there is a fit with your personality, time zone and the play style you want to try first. Make sure you actually talk using TeamSpeak, Mumble, etc... only so much you can learn using text chat.

An established new player organization with excellent reputation is http://www.eveuniversity.org/ I believe they are currently headquartered in Placid - a few jumps from Clellinon.

Thank you for the response again Do Little. I am now at Clellinon doing my agent career missions already Big smile

I decided to trash my items since I think they're worth little.

You'll probably lose your ship. Not because of skills, but because you don't know what to watch for (everything) and you'll probably hit the wrong keys and die (I did).

Finish the career agents, maybe the SoE arc, then, with some ISK in the bank, take cheap ships to lowsec (or nullsec) and lose them.
Just not this early while you're still learning what key is warp, what key is stop and what that weird symbol on the overview is.
lol Speaking of the warp key, I just figured out the warp key after almost a year of playing.

I just been hovering over the right click menu till needing to warp out.

It's the weird paradox of EVE. Finding a corp is one of the most important things you can do to enjoy the game, especially early on. However, finding a corp that is a good fit is one of the hardest things to do, and appears to be mostly a matter of luck. The big "newbie friendly" well known ones make me nervous, as it seems too easy to fall through the cracks and not really make the personal connections to make the game fun, however their reputations don't come from nowhere, so *shrug*. It seems to me that the best way to audition a corp is to fly with them before you join them. Ask lots of questions, what everyone's working towards, what they want to do, what they do when they log in. Also don't forget to look them up on killboards to get a sense of their activity and experience.

I guess a little off topic from the OP, but yeah, you definitely shouldn't join a corp before doing all the tutorials/career agents, and maybe not even before finishing the epic arc.

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.

Yeah, I was ignorant and still am to this game. I'm still trying to finish my career agents. Yeah it's okay even if it is off-topic, I appreciate all kinds of little bits of information to help me get a better grip of this game.

Thank you all for the answers :-)

OK, seems you're back on track now which is a good thing. Definitely take your time in joining a player corp. As others have said, fly with them for a bit, research them and ask questions.

Just remember that in this game, Information is King and Conversation is it's Queen. Make sure to check info on everything (right click and select show info).

As for your assets in other stations, don't worry about moving or carrying them with you. They are perfectly safe in station and always available for use when needed. As your time in-game increases you'll acquire lot's of items, especially if you do exploration or run missions. It's ok to leave the items in various stations for future use. They can be easily found in your assets inventory window (safe icon in Neocom bar - left side of screen).

Definitely complete all of the Career Agents, I believe one of those Agents will give you a small Transport ship which can be used later to haul your stuff to a specific station. I suggest setting up various stations in a few different areas, preferable in or near a major Trade Hub, to be a 'Base Of Operations' where you can stockpile loot and conduct business.

Right at first don't trash, leave or bypass any loot collected from wrecks. Keep all high Meta level items to either sell in Market or to fit on your ships later. All low Meta level items and scrap metal can be reprocessed into minerals at various stations.

Sorry to hear about you getting attacked while letting Autopilot do the flying. High Security space is not safe. After you plot a course to your destination, it's much safer to manually pilot your ship by clicking the next jump gate of your route listed in your Overview and select 'Warp to / Jump' option.

Last but not least, these forums and Google search are great ways to gain knowledge about the game. Good luck to you and may you have lot's of success in this game.

Yeah, I'm in a NPC corp right now and I'm having fun with one of the members there. He (presumably a male) is really fun, though we've only talked for about 10 minutes (?).

Yeah, I figured out the Personal Assets thingy, but thanks for the information!

Yep, on my way to completing the Career Agents missions. So far, I haven't gotten any Transport ships, but it's kinda fun having an objective to complete instead of mining constantly (which is kinda boring, to me).

I trashed my items already T_T But I guess I can recover those in no time. I don't think they're that valuable anyway, but I will not repeat the same mistake in the future. Thanks for the tips.

I think that I was not attacked by another clone. I think that it was the Navy First Sergeant ships (which I believe are NPCs guarding the Gallente space).

Yeah, I am watching some videos from Youtube when I have free time, especially the videos from Reload.

Just chatting with people amd kicking it. Thats how I found the the couple of corps I joined.

I chit chat on local when I see them mining or on local, I sometimes i go on fleet trips with the group. Sooner or later I get a invite, I generally don't just join a corp unless I interact with someone on local.

I snoop on the info pane when I see someone new to see what they and their corps are about when I see them locally.
