So I terminated a character about 12 hours ago, but I can still search for the character in game and she shows up in the "Doomheim" corp, but when I look at her employment history, it says she's still in the Center for Advanced Studies to this day??? Don't deleted characters get removed completely from the game? So names from deleted characters are not reusable?

Deleting things from a relational database is a total pain in the ass.

Because there are references to them _everywhere_.

What should happen, for example, when there's a transaction they were involved in? Or a kill mail?

I'm really not surprised it doesn't clean up.

Woo! CSM XI!

I cleared all cashe files and restarted my client, and now that deleted character seems to be gone after downtime...

Was it just a ghost in my cashe files?

Deleted characters get placed in the "Doomheim" corporation, which has special flags set up to not show up on normal searches. The name does get released and if you re-use it, the deleted character gets renamed to Citizen_0984874013740 or similar, and remains in Doomheim. This lets CCP restore a character if you petition it, and/or continue to be able to check the logs for whatever that character was involved in.

Your client and the EVE website may not update the corp history until server reboots.
