your servers arent enough for 30k people anymore.
2 seconds lag again (pretty common tbh), really unplayable unless you're a miner.

I've barely noticed any lag. And I play on a glorified potato. Have you ruled out the problem being on your end?

Lag sux. Probably due to the constant application of polish and eye candy graphics that CCP keeps pouring into the game.

As usual, I blame it all on Soundwave & Co.

no. Its not graphic lag, its network lag kinda you doubleclick in space and your ships takes 2 seconds to start moving. Very devastating effect during pvp encounters. I'd guess it occurs when server is overloaded and cant process requests timely.

I haven't noticed any lag issues either (except around Jita due to the Burn Jita event). It seems like if it was an issue at CCP's end that it would impact everybody equally. I wonder if it's caused by bottlenecks somewhere else in the connection chain - i.e. that it's a regional issue. I'm in the Eastern US and virtually never experience any significant lag.

You might want to change the password on your wifi or get your neighbor to stop downloading porn through your router. Or get a decent ISP. Not all of us have the lag you seem to be getting. Jita lag yes. Market lag yes. Occasional container lag, yes. Spaceship lag no.

So your network and everything between your house and CCP server has been ruled out? And its all ccplz fault?

No lag here. OP needs to check his equipment.

You sure you're not just flying a battleship or any other regularly slow ship?

The lag isn't anywhere near as bad as the constant lockups...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

weird, eve is the only game I ever experienced (heavy) lag with, nor any other network related issues, but sure - its perhaps the network issue somewhere outside CCP's massively played biggest in the world single shard cluster.
Alone in system, yet ship takes 2 seconds to react to input.

It commonly is something outside of CCPs servers. Many network problem threads, it ends up being a bad jump in the connection.

The data travels thru multiple IP addresses, servers, through hundreds of miles of cable. If it was a server problem, it would be more than just 'two seconds'

You're aware the game only operates on 1 second intervals to begin with right? Which is why I die a little inside everytime I hear someone ask if they can play in 1st person w a joystick.

yes, I'm playing this game for 8,5 years non-stop and I can tell when it lags and when it doesn't.

"fix lag"

By the power of magical wizards and voodoo and jesus and conservative politics, make everything the way it is in my imagination!

Maybe stay out of nodes where huge fleet battles take place. Also 'events' such as Burn Jita are likely to cause even worse lag there then what is normally experienced.

From my own limited experience the lag situation fluctuates depending on where in New Eden I find myself, as a explorer and wormhole diver I don´t really have routes planned, so perhaps you should just relocate to a less 'busy' area.

Note that I don´t want to come of as a know-it-all (I really don´t know much of EVE yet) but if these ideas improve your gaming it could be worth looking into.

I've played Eve on a cheap laptop and a dial up modem and the lag wasn't bad at at all if I wasn't in a busy area.

It got interesting when more that 3 people are on grid or loading the market.

No cuts, no butts, no coconuts!
