This is an overall question for those more knowledgeable on the lore, but overall, how do the factions sound?

is there a stereotypical "accent" or speech pattern that could be applied to a faction more closely than another?

I mean, I figure every planet might have varying dialects and languages inside the empire, but even then I figure that would have to combine into a singular over-arching dialect, or a few different dialects and accents for the region.

I'm not too sure about the other factions, but at least for the Caldari I'd expect them to use a lot of military jargon, even in civilian spheres, as well as be straight and to the point when dealing with other Caldari. (Exception made for corporate and diplomatic interactions.) I dunno.

The Caldari actually have their own language called Napanii, which has some words that are absent from other languages, some that do not exist in their lexicon but exists in other languages, and etc. Apparently, in Napanii, Freedom and Chaos are the same word.

Amarr, no idea, but they incorporate alot of butchered words that were obviously lifted from the Holy Bible e.g. Sefrim from Seraphim, though they count all angels as Sefrim. Interesting note: They do not actually seem to be all that annoyed that the Angel Cartel incorporated the name 'Angel' in their organisation. Either they understand the word differently, or the term is absent from their lexicon.

Minmatar is a bloody mess. All the seven tribes have their own language and every individual clan has their own dialect. So far, to communicate with the greater cluster, they had apparently devised a common Minmatar Standard language because, seriously, you can't expect foreign diplomats to learn all these languages.

Gallente is also really diverse. I would expect French-sounding words from the Gallente, Jin-Mei using a mix of Korean and Chinese or at least really sound like that, Mannar having more in common with the Minmatar than the Gallente, etc.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

I actually had no idea about napanii. I'll definitely look it up to see if anyone expanded on it, just so I can get an idea on the phonetics behind it.

Is there an actual reference to this in materials released by CCP? Because in my searchings for it I can only find what seems to be a non-canon player-driven project to develop a language for the Caldari.

The story team has occasionally used Napanii, I think in newsposts and a few chronicles even, and Hilen Tukoss I believe used it when he spoke on the forums every once in a while during the Arek'Jaalan storyline. So I think it can be considered semi-official.
It indeed started as a player run project, though.

As for the topic itself, I actually haven't given it much thought.

According to the Language Translators Chronicle, there is no common language in New Eden. All different groups speak different languages, and can't understand each other without interpreters. The exception is pod pilots. Their ships have translator modules, which translate any written or spoken language into the pilot's preferred language, and transmit it to their minds via the pod neural interface. But if they're outside their pods, they're just like everyone else-- they don't know what someone is saying unless they speak that language.

(This gets overlooked in Eve fiction, maybe even in the Chronicles or official novels themselves. Seems the multilingual aspect could add some color to a story. What's it like with people speaking X number of languages in Jita 4-4?)
