Gotta remember this was right around the time of Incarna's Summer Of Rage, there was a lot of anger and resentment towards CCP about a lot of things and the state of the game at that time was in pretty poor shape.

Burn Jita...

Im new in the game so it may be fun to live this event.

After all it's a sort of gamerlore legend (same that Goons) than even this outside of EVE heard of.

But to be honest it's seems not to be a big deal for a particular player.
Yeah, billions ISK will be lost but how many a single player may lost.
Even a dumb, naive newbie like me.
10, 20, 30 Millions ?

Ouch, it's harsh !
But i loose much more by lack of knowledge and skill in my initial steps IG.
And maybe it was a cheap price to learn and progress.Smile

ISK are the hearth of EVE but if we never loose anything the game still be fun ?

I come to the EVE for this.
The game seems like a Cyberpunk tabletop RPG with a good GM.
Fast, harsh, learn or die style.

BJ tradition contribute to this, even if it loose some flavor from the initial Burn Jita.

Looks like it's still on - only postponed until March. Ganking ships are primarily going to be Coercers and Catalysts.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

youd be amazed at the amount of newbies that have large allowances/ parents credit cards/ or just over stuffed wallets. I once had a guy in an incursion fleet, less than a month old in a vindicator, lose it because he didn't know about kill rights, and in less than an hour bought and sold plex and reshipped for vanguards.

I only wish goons could keep burn jita going on PERMANENTLY.

I'd like to see CCP intervene, with yet again some pathetic EULA change because of it.

I guarantee you, if people goons and co, could keep burn jita going permanently, CCP would come out with some sort of excuse as to why "you can't gank in Jita" anymore.

How do I get the most fun out of this?
- Grab my dessi and join the party? Who needs a positiv sec status anyway?
- Shot at everything with a red skull to wohre on as much CONCORD kills as possible?
- Undock in a brick tanked ship and try to absorb as much damage as possible before I explode?

Hmm... I have a drake from back before they got nerfed that I find absolutely sucks for my skills now. Sending it off in a blaze of glory with an all-tank build might be a fun thing to try. Maybe two drakes remote shield repping each other (since I don't need missles in the highs)...

All of the above.

If you go with your third option load up your cargo with comedy goods. Fedo's, exotic dancers, janitors etc, live stock, NPC goods like spiced wine and tobacco, it's all good for having a giggle.
