Flying an intercepter so it arrives at my destination at the same time I do, how do you do it? I've tried looking at ships from above and following the smoke trails, but there have to be some tips to doing this well. What are they?

NVM, reddit gave me 8 replies in a few hours.

i have to do this all the time chasing farmers in FW

here is what i find is the best thing to do

1. make sure you are in the tactical camera not the **** orbit camera

2. set your camera on the target ship with C do not root your camera to it with alt( or it will be thrown back at you when they start warp)

3. scroll the mouse wheal in(this prevents the camera from snapping back when they leave grid) and turn your camera to point at their engines.

this will let you see where they are going and makes sure the camera stays pointing in that direction to prevent you from getting disoriented or missing where they warped.

EDIT:

in addition turning on the tactical overlay (other than there is no reason not to have this on) will let you see their velocity vector making it easier to see where they are going.
