I have a couple directories named cache_backup0 floating around my settings, combined they have a couple hundred thousand files and take up a few GB space.

So wondering, whats in them? This can't be fast to search through to get things done.

*EDIT* And of course, can I just delete them?

Yes you can delete it. When you clear your cache using the in game option, instead of deleting the folder it simply renames it and then creates a new folder that it downloads new cache files to.

Forgot to mention they are 10+ times larger than the one just named cache, so didn't look like just backup. But your answer can explain how that happened.

Where did you find these files, after re-installing countless times it still says that i have 62,000 files missing when i run the rescache application. Somebody pls help...
