A and yes, according to the title I am interested in gate camps in low sec systems... And I wanted to know, which ship will be better for this... I have an artillery hurricane, thought it can be good, medium projectiles soon will be in v... but maybe there are better options?

You are not going to catch much in those ships. Lock time is way too slow.
Loki or Proteus are good options with remote boosting alt

I am curious what part in gatecamping is fun? Wouldnt it be more fun to participate in actual pvp and not just try to get easy kills? And yes ive Lost ships in gatecamps 😃

Honestly speaking, i just want to relax sometimes. I am also prefer actual pvp, i am doing it ocasionally, but still not good :) so, as i said, just want to relax for a few hours a week and maybe make some profit XD

its about the Diophantine rush that comes from getting a kill. CCP was very good at exploiting this further with KMs. basicly its just like a junky trying to get an easy fix .... just you know less life destroying and more content generating

Start cheap. Svipuls & Thrashers are excellent gatecamp ships, even more so with a re-se-bo Osprey or Scythe or Exequror onhand so you can ignore the gateguns.

Even better is a fast locking ship with a Scram range bonus like a Keres, Maulus Navy or Garmur, also with the aforementioned logi, and some friends to apply Webs and DPS.

Go forth and proudly be a harvester of low hanging fruit.

low effort with occasionally ludicrously high reward? It can be a surprisingly social way to spend an hour with some corpmates on comms.

Bullshit. Gatecamps aren't content. If you want tears or just wanna ruin someone's day it's all well and good. Go do you. But don't pretend that that is anywhere close to content.

If it happens, and affects other players it is content. Purely because you are personally butt-hurt about it does not make it any less content. Things you disagree with are content regardless.

In actuality we're playing a video game, that's it. Nobody is elite, nobody is special, we're all just big kids still playing with toys and sneering at the way the kid next to us wants to play with the toys.

Your assumption of why I don't think gatecamps are content is wrong. I've actually been on both the delivery and the receiving end of gate camps and it just never really felt like "content" (as per my definition) to me.

I agree that content means different things to different people and I may have been a bit dismissive of other people's opinions with my original comment. Sorry bout that.

If you really want to just get cheap killmails which require no skill to get, then just sit there in a hic with an alt in a exequror with remote sebos in the mids, and run away from anything more scary than a t1 destroyer. That seems to be the popular strategy, but while you will get a bunch of stabbed FW frigates, I wouldn't exactly call that PVP.

If you want to gatecamp for a more strategic objective (i.e. denying access to a system, making isk off of a highsec entrace, etc) then you will probably not want to do that solo. A good camp for that purpose will have a fast locker (gnosis), a infinte pointer to deal with DSTs (Devoter), a webber to prevent them from burning back to gate (loki), and logi (usually something that also fits remote sebos).

I will caution you though, don't get too invested, it takes a special sort of player to actually enjoy gate camping, for most people it is fun at first, I mean hey look at these kills, but after a while, the soul crushing boredom of staring at a gate for hours on end, only to hit F1 for a engagement that lasts 10 seconds will start to get to you.

As someone currently earning their living by gatecamping, you just need to choose your role in the camp. Either be the instant locker, secondary scram, the smartbomber, dps or webber. Or have a selection of ships that easily let you switch up your role.

Having alts who can act as eyes is also useful.

Gatecamping is pretty fun, killing people then getting out clean when their fleet tries to get on you can be a great feeling.
