Just Wondering CCP if you look outside jita 4-4 often

Just wondering if ccp is gonna ever remove all those mobile depots sitting in a giant circle around jita 4-4 or the BJK lettering in mobile depots.

Jita is laggy enough without those mobile depots,

In a way I don't think CCP has a right to scrap that when it doesn't interfere with gameplay rules and players put the effort and isk in to achieve it.

If its causing lag issues you actually can petition a GM about it. They'll come remove it.

I've tried shooting them. The owners literally replace them as soon as they're destroyed...

CCP has the right to anything in the game. Deleting Jita 4-4 and all it's content would be a bad move but not against any rules for them.

CCP commented on this months back, mobile depots are a tiny performance hit on the Jita node. If they're causing your local computer lag then I recommend turning them off in the overview and your brackets profile which should help significantly.

Why aren't people being told the same thing if someone decide to put 100+ cans on a gate? Are cans that much more intensive on the systems than mobile depot?

What about dumping a cloud of shuttles out of an orca lol. Although I think they changed the orca and you can no longer launch packaged ships from cargo and fleet hanger, only ships from the ship hanger. =(

Dumping a ton of ships into space happens suddenly and creates a large performance hit on both the server and the client since it's creating new objects in space. This both creates a lot of load on the node, which can crash it, and creates a ton of load on everyone's local clients which can crash them.

Also someone dumping a ton of stuff, either all at once or piecemeal, is pretty clearly a malicious exploit where as the Jita 4-4 undock isn't the fault of any one player.

Lastly a person can't be reasonably expect to warp around Null with everything that might be used in a decloak trap hidden on their overview just because some idiot can't be bothered to space their cans properly on the gate and creates a lag bomb through sheer incompetence.

cans dont cause lag its all just a make up thing because people are angry

Edit: ccp's shiny new servers they boast about cant handle 100+ cans and 25 people in local but can easily handle 1000 people in a system fighting each other

Lag from cans on a gate isn't on CCP's side it's on the player's client.

Unless you're talking about a can-bomb, which is something entirely different (and generally involves far more than 100 cans...) and also a bannable offense.

Question was rhetorical, I knew all this. But you did a very good job explaining it for those who might not have known. Dumping ships in the manner I mentioned is not liked by ccp at all and would result in disciplinary action.

Thank you! :)

Generally speaking I try to explain things for everyone if I think the question is worth answering.

In this particular case I really tried to be thorough because CCP takes a very dim view of people who crash server nodes for giggles. I know one of the first guys to ever come up with this little trick and he *barely* got off without a ban. These days if you try it you won't be playing Eve for a while.

thats like you saying its not an attempt to lag out the system like when project mayhem lost a keepstar and tauAD ejected 200 shuttles in a pos. it lags up the system makeing it much harder to actually enjoy the game, but if you say so.

If someone does this take screenshots if you can and report it. Something like that shows up clearly on CCP's logs and is a bannable offense.
