Eve just subscribed my alpha accounts without my permission

So I just found an e-mail receipt saying "Your credit card has been billed..."
Logged into the game (went alpha and haven't logged on since January 31) and found my account active omega as of 30 minutes ago...

Then I logged onto my alt character and found that he was Alpha and has been since January 31 as well.
Then while I was filling out a support ticket for a refund for my main, I get another e-mail receipt for my alt!

There was no recurring subscription on either of my accounts and I am getting billed out of the blue.

What is going on? Is CCP having billing issues that is randomly starting up peoples subscriptions? How do they even have my credit card information on file if I don't have a recurring subscription?

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Did you previously have a recurring subscription?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Best fill out support tickets. Either you had a recurring sub or someone has your account.

Like I said, my accounts have been in alpha state since January 31. Which means there was no recurring membership.

I haven't logged into the game since then until issue happened. How did this game just decide to start billing my credit card?

You sure you didn't buy something, utilize a credit card and perhaps check off a subscription? If you even get just a month - unless you cancel and remove your credit card you'll still get billed.

In my transaction history the last time I bought anything was on January 1 which was a 30 day subscription.
The accounts went alpha on January 31.

There was no recurring anything, I bought the 30 days of time, cancelled the automatic recurring subscription and my accounts turned off on January 31. But the system just decided to start them both up again tonight without my involvement.

You have to (apparently) also remove your credit card information. I'd file a ticket or dispute it with your credit card company. Don't ask me why CCP (apparently has their system setup like this - seems like it would create a lot of unnecessary hassle. Best of luck.

Raise a support ticket under billing and account. Timewise the ticket will depend on what happened. IIRC billing and account queries are looked into quickly, although they may take time to solve.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Yeah this is super weird.
Just looked at my credit cards and can't find the charges yet. But both of my accounts are active Omega.

I wonder if there is something wrong with their billing system at the moment.

This really does sound an awful lot like user error of some description.

In any case there's nothing definitive that anyone on the forums is going to be able to tell you, the correct response is to file a petition, which you've already done, and wait. Oh, and be mindful about the rules regarding discussing petitions on the forums (which you haven't broken yet)

The same thing happened to me 3-4 months ago. initially I presumed it was my error with a recurring payment, but the dates of the billings didn't add up.

I petitioned CCP and they refunded the payments fairly quickly.
