Why freeport can be instantly changed to NO freeport? Good question! Aparently there is no answers to it atm and CCP turns a blind eye to Trillions (and i mean ttrillions) of isk lost by players to this exploit to this day.

Explanation
As cyno goes up to a freeport (usualy that would be stationless systems) hunter alts apply it to a NON freeport and anything jumps in it has no tether. Then its tackled by 24/7 camper tengus/proteus or whatever eventually BO jumps in and starts bumping then capitals to kill.

I have counted 50 citadels in the regions of Metropolis, Heimatar, The forge in general hunter freeports has only 1 player in its corp. valasis1 in this case but there are tons of others.

And i could sit there and copy it all day long its tons and tons of this kind of kills.

Im not sure why victims arent complaining and asking for reimburst because as it looks from where i sit it is a clrear take an unfair advantage of fail game mechanics. And laundry billions of isk from players every day.

This could be sorted with 1 click by profile used by citadels application 1-24hrs delay nad thats all.

EDIT: I`ll also add that there is no such thing as a Freeport when it comes to citadels

Just because someone gave it the name Freeport does not make it so. They own the structure, they can do whatever they want with it, including spontaneously blocking access to it

Ok, I am trying to catch up on what has changed in the last few years, but let me piece this together and if I am wrong someone please correct me:

Freeport is a state of an Outpost when it is in contention. This is a fixed timer and an icon.
Outposts do not have tethers.
Outposts could only be put up in sov controlled null sec.
Many (if not all) of these 'exploited' killmails are in low-sec space.
At the time I am posting this there are a total of nine Freeports in EVE.

Could it be that the issue here is that some enterprising people are just changing the name of an Upwell structure (not an Outpost, different mechanic) to say 'Freeport' and people are not paying attention and falling for the gag? If so, that is in no way an exploit, it would just be people not understanding how the game works.

So, who are you trying to construct a case against? CCP for making this a possibility, the enities involved in the above noted killmails or the alleged organiser?

i mean we could get rid of many more timers! why not make war decs instant for example? probably balance reasons.

same thing can be asked here. personaly i think it should have at least a one hour timer. seems like a small oversight by ccp.

The structures are player owned, as such the owner can change the status of the structure at any time with regards to 3rd party docking.
