So i was thinking other day ive started this game in 06 on my original main im looking at the battleship and battlecruiser line up the main ones,

Caldari example,
Raven
Rokh Scorpion

Could 2 more t1 varient battleships be added equallying 5 per race like the Cruiser and frig line up have

Same with the battlecruisers,

Mauraders maybe make more of them as well Ie

Hyperion Maurader

Rokh Maurader

Abbadon Maurader

maelstrom maurader

Even Strategic battleships and battlecruisers would be a nice addition

To me flying the same old ships all the time seems tireing after awhile We need some new flavoured ships CCP :D

Sure, more T2 Marauders would be awesome. But they'd need to be called something else - T2 Flagships? It would be nice to see them damage-based as opposed to defense-based.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Which roles would these ships fill that other ships don't fill already?

Always thought it would be interesting to see a battleship sized hull that can fit capital sized weaponry, similar to how there is the battlecruiser that can fit large guns.
a smaller ship designed to punch up at capitals. would obviously have less tank to compensate, so would melt under any sort of subcap fire, but maybe make it maneuverable enough to avoid capital guns (with appropriate tracking bonuses so it could still apply damage)

What role isn't being filled already that a battleship could fill? I'm not opposed to your idea, Bjorn, but at the same time it feels like 'Well, we did it with battlecruisers'

We've got POS bashing covered, Anti-capital engagements come down to having a fleet that can break its tank and counter the capitals support, and marauders already accomplish their role like a hot knife through butter.

I wouldn't mind some ship(s) that utilize Flak as Anti-Frigate/Missile/Drone platform.
Yet I do think some existing ships need a overhaul first before we can discuss implementing newer ones.

3*Ewar BS is what's needed in the BS line up. Well, Kinda 2* Since the Geddon sorta is.

What hole or role would these hulls fill? Just having more hulls for the sake of having more hulls is a pretty poor use of CCP's resources.

Don't get me wrong, I would *love* a T2 Rokh hull, but I'm not seeing a niche it needs to fill at the moment. At least one that would be useful and not horribly OP.

not really unlike with the scorpion and geddon there is no added role for the other e-wars to be filled

heavy neuts are not viable on cruisers nor is an ECM burst and that is what the two e-war BBs are built around. this is why they do not exist

anyone using a geddon for med neuts would be better off in a cruiser same with using a scorpion primarily for focused ECM

How about NO.

What we need is for CCP to finish what they started several years ago and balance the ships we have.
They need to figure out what to do with the scourge they created called the T3D.
They need to figure out what to do with the T3C they have been promising to rework for several years.
They need to find a role for the entire assault frigate class that has been over shadowed by changes to the other ships and classes in the game.
Oh and they need to complete the whole module tiercide and re-balance process.
When they finish all of this IF there is a niche somewhere that is not covered by one of the existing ships then we can talk about adding more to the mess.

Shhhhhhh, start 8 separate threads, this one was going to go for a couple more pages then fizzle out like every other thread on this board.

No, we do not.

In fact EVE was a much better place when there were much less ships and we could do with them whatever we wanted.

Go mining Osprey.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

So, by "whatever we wanted" you mean sit in a hangar and collect dust after your first month or two in the game? Or do you mean the 90% of hulls that saw barely any use at all because they were kind of worthless at most things?

Did someone press your marbles too hard? Or are your anti-depressants running low?

Valid concern here.

Aynhow, back in the day when the pool of ships was low, you had more freedom with your fits.

Wanted a 5x gas harvester boat? Fly Brutix with 5x gas harvester on. Someone else want to gank you, sees Brutix - maybe not a good idea to do that in a ruptur.

Want to mine with the guys but don't wanna fly an Osprey? Fly Apocalypse with 8x mining laser on and mine away.

Have bad or no turret skills and wanna do level 3 / 4 missions with a Ferox? Fit 5x heavy missile launcher on and do more damage than railguns would.

Sleeper abominations and the bad, bad Drake came much later to the party and there was plenty of parties to be had.

Wanna loot the mission and salvage for making rigs (which also came much later and there only was one size of them at first)?

Fit Cormorant with tractor beams, salvager and cap rechargers and go to work.

Need was what make the guys creative. Today you must give the knoobbs a fit + boat and they still don't comprehend what to do.

Now we have this mess of every boat makes something. Look at all the bad drones-boats that want to be a Curse but aren't.

Or even worse, every boat must have 112 heavy neuts and 34 cynos on to bring your 205978240724805679268542 sooper-dooper-doooooper-dooooooooooooper ships with zee fighters that let the server fight for you because they are too daft to figure it out themselves.

I'm fine, I'm just a little OD'd on ******** ideas lately... I appreciate your concern though Blink

There is, in fact, nothing stopping you from doing *any* of your examples, and all of them are just as effective as they were back then, we just have generally better options available because all the things that were equally bad at everything have been buffed to be good at at least one thing, or in the case of Railguns in general been buffed to be not completely terrible in general.

On top of that the cap escalations weren't even remotely a consequence of the ship changes, those hulls generally changed the least, that's just been people building up infrastructure and more stuff getting built than kaploded.
