For those Alphas and Omegas new to the game, this is just to let you know about a time-honored Goon tradition that happens roughly every year around this time: The ganking of anything and everything in the Jita star system. "Burn Jita" typically runs for a weekend, starting late Friday and even extending until the wee hours on Monday. More often than not combat spills out to several outlying systems as well, with gankers preying upon ships stalled out at closed stargates to JIta.

To maximize on the level of suffering and 'lols', you can expect a minimum (if any) advance notice or leak of when in February this will occur. The only recourse is to basically avoid Jita as you will be facing hundreds and hundreds of players intent on your destruction - whether or not your ship or cargo is anything of value. The whole thing is basically one large Gong (or Goon) Show.

I appreciate your attempt to inform the Bads™ in game but guess what...they don't read the forums. They don't read EVE related websites. These players live in a bubble. They won't know about a Burn Jita event until their charon is a smoking wreck in Sivala. The very players you seek to warn do not like you, me nor anybody else that wants to interact with them.

True story, I was flying through Uedama. I saw a macherial sitting on the gate and thought, whoops he is looking for somebody to bump. As I jumped into Juunigaishi I saw a freighter warp in. I thought, "I'll let him know a bumping mach is sitting there..." So I convoy him. Next thing I know the little shitstain has blocked me. I thought, "Really?" I hope that little shitstain had his freighter blown up and that the cargo went to buying CODE. or whomever more gank ships. I have no sympathy for these mindless drones who play the game and do not pay attention to what is going on around them. None. In fact, I hope to join in on the next Burn Jita event and burn down as many freighters as I can.

Think you are generalizing a bit much....and work on those anger and rejection issues.

If Goonswarm actually posted a PSA no one would be able to take it at face value. I'm not saying that all Goons are pathological liars, but you're all pathological and can't be trusted further than anyone can shoot you.

I am certain that all CODE members are pathological social incompetents. Any group that follows a leader who's only goal in burning Jita is because he had split ends or burnt his hair while teasing it with a hot iron doesn't have the implant seating ring tightened up completely.

Whenever CODE can actually gank in Low and Null and leave their suburban life style behind then perhaps CODE can make comments about other pathological alliances.

Yeah Ganking doesn't happen in low or null those are just called fights. It's a Gank when you do it illegally despite knowing concord will take your ship.

Technically you can gank in null as well. In MMOG lingo, ganking refers to the act of ganging up on someone so they have no chance. It's literally a gang-kill. By extension, the term also gets used frequently when there's only one attacker, but so overpowered that he could as well be a gang. What you are describing is specifically a suicide-gank, which would be a pleonasm if ganking always entailed suicide.

Come on guys, this is Goon's special event. Let them have the glory and tears. As much as I enjoy CODE related salt, we're separate organizations, goons deserve the honour here.

There once was a ganker named tisi

A stunningly beautiful missy

To gank a gross miner

There is nothing finer, cept when they get all pissy

Doesn't look like it's going to happen again this year. My how the mighty Goons have fallen... Gevlon Goblin must be absolutely rollong in his grave...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I can confirm, at least to the best of my knowledge, that it's not going to happen. Might be a good idea to add that to the OP, so people don't panic for no reason when reading it. Although I provide no warranty, please check your own sources as well.

CCP once put a warning about Burn Jita on the logon screen for some days preceding the event, it got ignored and feckless fools in freighters flocked to the killing fields like moths to a flame, then whined when they exploded.

TL;DR people are dumb.

Yup, and I delight in killing them. These players are terrible and deserve what they get, IMO. Kill them. Kill them all as many times as you can.

You're headed down that path again bro. You won't be as delighted as you think, even if you say you will. We talked about this before.

It needs to be told though that it's roughly 1% of all the passing ships gets blown actually when 'Burn Jita' events occur.... Most of players do not even notice this event.

But yeah.... Some people will be caught with their panties down Twisted

that's because they bring no where near enough people for burn jita

There was a time when the mere mention of Goonswarm caused fear, anger and unrest here in the forums. Now it seems the name just generates nostalgic memories of past glory days.

I remember the very first 'Burn Jita' event. It was greatly publicized, caused a bit of a forum flame war and even made game news headlines. It should have been a good event for both gankers and anti-gankers. However after all was said and done, it turned out to be a major let down due to a so called game mechanic bug.

The second 'Burn Jita' event had a sad sorry state of execution. It's announcement was largely viewed as a laughable event which didn't even garner half of the interest as the first 'Burn Jita' event.

To the best of my knowledge, I don't even recall any other 'Burn' events, probably because they just weren't noteworthy enough for me to take notice.

Sorry guys but as an outside observer, that's what the picture looks like to me.

The first BJ profited from the fact that CCP screwed up with the crime watch system. We've never been particularly dangerous. If any actual damage is being done in this game, then by CCP.

People can only laugh at the same joke so many times before it gets old.

Also after a certain point giving goons attention just isn't productive. Something about wrestling, mud, and pigs...
