I would almost be more worried by that, Victorian-haan. If it's Peacekeepers, it's probably a conventional containment situation, maintaining security, preventing quarantine breaches, et cetera. If they contracted with a force now known for both clone soldier operations and cyber-warfare, even if it's a Zainou spin-off organization...

As it stands, I would be worried about the shareholder impact if Zainou attempted to spurn a CEP-guided intervention.

As long as they are not using clone soldiers that are unqualified for work that does not involve killing other clone soldiers(or baseliners who irritated them) it should be fine it's probably just a coincidence.

As we are heading out on a contract soon, my vacation / vigil in Muttokon comes to an end. A third day of resting quietly in the warm glow of proper colored skies as I slowly orbit the planet has yielded... well, nothing. Much as expected. It seems there's no mistakes made when it comes to whatever means they use to keep this from capsuleers, which I suppose speaks well of Six Kin Development and Freedom Extension. I'll assume whatever's going on in Oijanen is similarly subtle as far as us capsuleers go?

I'll be lingering in Muttokon for as long as I can, not so much because I expect to find anything at all but more because it's about as peaceful a place as any within reasonable reach, but I'm willing to put money on it being entirely fruitless and that there'll be nothing to raise the pulse above 'barely alive'.

I need to do this sort of thing more often. I haven't been this relaxed in years.

I wish they'd just say what the problem is. It'd keep imaginations (like mine) from running wild.

I mean, maybe it's nothing. Hopefully it's nothing. Probably it's nothing.

(Coming next week: "it's a really embarrassing, virulent STD nobody wanted to talk about at the time because a lot of high-ranking administrative staff is involved.")

But while they don't explain why they're doing such an obviously-sensible-in-certain-circumstances thing, there's a big part of my head that just keeps going, "Something's wrong, something's wrong, something's wrong," and there are some pretty obvious leading candidates for what the "something" could be.

Some explanation would just really be nice.

I would like to know that what has happened is just a coincidence rather than some deadly outbreak.

Interesting that both these events (shall we call them biological hazard events?) occur so close together both chronologically and spatially.

There are also some similarities in the solar systems involved. Both systems are low security space near to nulsec and devoid of any space stations. Muttokon is 2 jumps from B-VIP9 in Great Wildlands, and Oijanen is directly adjacent to BWF-ZZ in Geminate. Geminate and GWL are adjacent to each other.

Known inhabitants of GWL are Thukker Tribe. Known inhabitants of Geminate are The Society of Conscious Thought.

My guess is that this is some sort of bio-test. The scope of these events seems to me to indicate that an entity external to those effected may be responsible.

However, it does not escape my notice that the entities most closely tied to the effected areas are SoCT, Thukker Tribe, and Zainou, all of which have had some sort of involvement with Anoikis, Sleepers, and Drifters.

The Thukker have been involved in Thera and the Drifters as well. Perhaps there are even more questions to be asked.

A small update, pilots, from the joint efforts of the Heiian Conglomerate, Ishuk-Raata Enforcement Directive, and Arataka Research Consortium.

In light of the expansion of the quarantine in Muttokon, we're anticipating an expansion of the quarantine zone on Oijanen II. Medical personnel are already positioned within the city, and humanitarian supplies have been positioned to relieve pressure on the existing medical infrastructure given the quarantining of a medical facility. We are stepping up supply deliveries, in anticipation of isolation.

While personnel are on hand to assist with the quarantine itself, including a regiment of marines, atmospheric and low-orbit support from I-RED, and an offer of material assistance from Heiian Conglomerate in case of a need for orbital action, no additional information is forthcoming.

Efforts to contact Ishukone leadership for additional information have, as yet, proven fruitless.

From IKAME's perspective, the foremost concern is securing information about the pathogen, or ideally samples, so that sequencing, culturing, and development of specific treatment and vaccination regimes can be achieved.

I-RED and TYRIN have focused on the humanitarian side, with support from HeiCon.

More news as it develops.

As stated above, I-RTI has several teams of physicians and support staff in the outlying communities outside of the quarantine zone, their task is to help lessen any impact that the medical facilities closure may of had. While Ishukone-Raata is still awaiting a response from the quarantine command, both Internal Watch and AKAGI special-response groups are on standby to assist in ensuring quarantine control.

It may become necessary to 'kill it with fire' as they say.

I know that when you're a hammer, every problem starts to look like a nail, but this may actually BE a nail. I trust the capsuleer organisations at work in this area, but would caution them that while they must act with compassion, that compassion should be global in perspective.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Depending on the effects of whatever is causing this quarantine the "kill it with fire" approach may be the most compassionate thing we could do for the people affected by the thing causing the quarantine.

Well well, that's interesting.

This is starting to get hairy enough that we might actually be seeing the possibility for 'burn it with fire. From orbit.' options being considered.

I think we can safely say this is not good.

The necessity is not good. The fact that it's being considered in time is.

While I can appreciate the necessary security measures. It is now the time to release some information. Especially since capsuleers were mentioned in connection with this latest incident.

Muttokon has an elevator lost in orbit which may or may not have the resources to survive being untethered.

And now this with a city on Oijanen II.

While prudent, we are witnessing some really extreme measures to keep people in. And yet at the same time both seemingly showing nothing is wrong.

There are questions being asked.

And answers are being demanded.

I would suggest we start checking with our own sources about the seriousness of the situation.

Um...you might want to retract that statement...

To be fair, Ms. Vailatti, every time prior to this there was a discussion of potential contagion, the immediate shout was: "KYONOKE!"

Which not every contagion is.
