I first started playing way back at the end of 2005. Holy smokes.

I never really got very deep into the game. I played for a little while and dipped out having only trained a million or so SP and barely scratched the surface of the game.

I quit because I got too busy, but then never picked the game up again. I went back into WoW and eventually D3 and just stayed in that world for a while. Then I found myself taking longer and longer "breaks" from WoW. Like 6+ months at a time. Not end-of-expansion time, this would be like prime-time during new content cycles and just deciding "meh..."

After EvE went free-to-play, I decided to hop back in and take a look around, and well.. I'm back to give this a real shot this time.

I got back into EvE because I wanted to just go out into the black and play in the sandbox. Maybe do a little mining, Maybe a little crafting or run some pve missions to get comfortable with combat and earn enough ISK to keep me kitted out in new hulls and always moving. I don't really have a plan-- I just kind of want to see what kind of trouble I can get into and see how it unfolds.

I'm just still in the whatever NPC corp I started in 11 years ago, so I'm interested in finding a player corp that is active and friendly to n00bs like me. I've been perusing the forums and the recruitment threads but I just don't know, you know?

I'm stepping into a huge world and I'm just wanting to absorb it all. So I'd be much much obliged if anyone had any suggestions on where to apply to get into some wild adventures.

Thanks all! It's been nice to make your acquaintance, and I'll see you out there. Fly safe.

If you want the long answer there is a sticky up above about finding the corp "that is right for you". If you just want to get into a good learning environment a.s.a.p. there is Eve University. Either search for them ingame in People & Places or open the chat channel listing, expand the Help folder and look for E-Uni Help, and ask in there.

There are other newbro friendly corporations like Brave Newbies, Karmafleet and Pandemic Horde, though I haven't any experience of these they get recommended often. If that sounds more to your taste you could look them up ingame or search the recruitment forum for their ad.

They gave the alpha accounts some 'expensive' skillbooks right off the bat (remember, these are dirt poor chars we are talking about). So I would recommend you keep that old char for date-of-birth arguments heh and a new char so you can experience the new tutorial, and enjoy the perks of a new Alpha account.

Ditto on Brave Newbies, Karmafleet and Pandemic Horde (also, Mercenary Academy).

First, sell your char on bazaar.

2005 char with no corp history and a good name is quite valuable. You should get a couple billion isk over the transfer cost.

Make a new one to actually play on.

Welcome to EVE!

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com
