I'm training to be able to fly a breacher. Once I'm satisfied that my skills are sufficient I'll start roaming low looking for fights. I'm wondering what my ship progression path should be? I'll train projectiles after my rocket skills are in a good place but for the moment I want that little beauty the breacher.

It depends a lot on what you want to fly. Knowing you want to train projectiles, here are a few examples once you get decent skills:

- Faction Frigates: RF Firetail / Dramiel (strong but skill intensive: you need Gallente Frigate and more importantly, good drone skills)
- Destroyers: Thrasher, Talwar (you want light missiles at this point)
- Tactical destroyers: Svipul
- Cruisers: Rupture, Stabber, Bellicose (Light missiles), and Scythe (if you wish to start flying space healers)
- Navy Cruisers: Stabber Fleet Issue (projectiles) / Scythe Fleet Issue (projectiles or rapid lights missiles)

Note that:
- You can train extensively sub-cruisers, or on the contrary, skip anything destroyer-related and start working on cruisers and cruiser-size weapons.
- With the prevalence of Rapid Light Missile Launchers (cruiser-sized anti-frigate, but really anti-everything weapon), you should definitely add Light Missile Specilaization IV to your queue, plus you will benefit from the missile support skills you have most likely started training.
- Assault Frigates are not really in a good place right now, so i havent mentioned them. However, Jaguar and Wolf, despite being under-performing ships in the current meta, are both projectile platforms, if you fancy guns.

im doing so well in my slasher atm that i might go projectiles first and rockets -> light missiles later.

earlier today i got my third kill. i was looting stuff in an asteroid field. i went suspect cos the wrecks werent mine.
now my overvirew which shows wrrecks doesnt show enemies.but i heard the engagement beep and quickly tabbed over to the combat tab.

a manticore had decloaked and pointed me. luckily he had no web just a painter and a point and t2 torps. i have no idea why he decided i would be a good target when he had no web. anyway i scram webbed him activated ab and started orbiting. all damage he done was mitigated by my medium sb.

eventually he popped but sadly the pod got away. i guess he underestimated me cos this char is like 3 days old or something. his character was from 2010 or something. i got 1.5m in loot and 5 m in bounty.

just goes to show age doesnt matter vs experience. i havent trained a single gunnery skill yet just got the defaults. its a nice 36m on my kb.

so yeah loving the slasher and projectiles. think i might try for svipul but im gonna max out frigs first. and stay in relatively cheap stuff like sub 10m.

thanks for your reply and advice.

eve isn't really like other mmo's

in that there is no
use "weapon of uber" for this
use "weapon of doom" for that

ships are expendable tools
ISK is an expendable resource used to acquire 'stuff'
'stuff' like ships is expendable

skills just enable opportunities

with frigates (or any other hull size)
you can go tall and train the skills for the advanced hulls for one faction
or you can go wide and train for several faction for their standard hulls

imo going wide first sets the groundwork needed for going tall across multiple factions
it also gives you a lot of choice in the content that you can participate in
but you are free to play in a way that gives you much fun

If you get good with rockets, maybe train light missiles and use the Talwar next.

I think talwars are only good when u have a gang of them for alpha. Nothing to stop the enemy simply leaving though

The ship progression path in EvE is simple yet extremely complex and only you can decide what the right progression is.
In basics the progression should go like this.
Rookie ship.
Your chosen T1 frigate.
Best ship in the game for ________. You get to fill in the blank with whatever you want to do.

Other factors.
Some players choose ships based on looks.
Other choose them based on which faction they belong to.
Most usually choose them based on which is best for the task at hand.
What you want to do, many think frigate to battleship is the way to go.
Others I know cannot fly a single battleship but they can fly every frigate class hull in the game including all of faction and the assault frigates.
Even as a PvP player to some degree what you fly will be affected by what the rest of your group is flying. A shield tanked ship in an armor fleet is not going to end well, neither would an armor tanked ship in a shield fleet.
