I accidentally ransomed a guy ion 0.0 This morning. I was working on sec status and low and behold-A domi lands at zero on me. He offered to pay in local as I shot him up. The rats were on me and I had to warp off. But not before I told him in local his ransom price: 2 million isk \P/ Let him leave even. True story.

Hmmm

If the character is '10 or older and I don't know how much to ransom for, I start at 100 mil for his pod. That's my default ransom.

You paid and lived? They're doing it wrong. The pods must ALWAYS die! (if I can catch it...)

Hey some of us actually try to make a living on ransoms lol, so honouring and getting rep for honouring nets us more ransoms..

And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell.

Honouring ransoms is the key to successful piracy, in my eyes.

I've also found that some players carebears like to roll PvP alts and are in fact rich so I start quite high even on relatively new characters. It soon becomes obvious if they are in fact new to the game.

Props to pirate for honoring the ransom and to the victim for making sure his e-honor is made known Pirate
