Dev blogs and announcements
Breaking changes and you - How to use alt-routes to enhance your sanity
Are you interested in third party development? Then we highly recommend the latest dev blog talking about best-practices how to use alt-routes in ESI to maintain application stability against a constantly evolving API.

ESI Mail Scopes Are Now Released
ESI, our new API, allows you now to read and send evemails via the API. This means you could, for example, develop an email plugin which allows you to handle your evemails in your EVE client. Please note though, that abuse of this feature is strictly forbidden and will lead to severe consequences. , programmatic use of EVE Gate to dispatch mail is now considered a misuse of the EVE Gate service.

Mass tests on Jan 31 and Feb 2
In preparation for the next release, we conducted mass tests on the test servers Singularity and Duality on January 31 and February 2. Thank you for all the participation!

Next release: YC 119.2 on Feb 14
Our next EVE Online release, YC 119.2, will be published on February 14. While we will see the arrival of a new in-game event, we also will get a bunch of improvements - better game play, better UI and better performance! Check out the overview on EVE Updates.

New Eden Store: New Serpentis SKINs
Gallente rejoice! We have added 35 Serpentis SKINs for Gallente ship hulls to the New Eden Store, including SKINs for capitals and supercapitals. The price tag is pleasing too, with as low as 400 AUR for hulls smaller than battleship size.

CSM XI Summit 2017 - Daily recaps (Live Streams)
During the CSM XI summit 2017, the elected player council had daily sessions with the EVE Online developers and producers. Make no mistake, those sessions are tough and very demanding - the CSM members have to stay fully focused over 8 hours per day while getting bombarded with tons of information. At the end of each day, the CSM members provided a quick, high level recap via Facebook live video.
Day 1 - Day 2 - Day 3 - Day 4
The full meeting minutes will be available in the next weeks.

YC 119.2 Theme: Towards The Inevitable
The theme for the release YC 119.2 has been published and is available on CCP's Soundcloud: Towards The Inevitable.

Skillpoint rewards on Singularity
The skill point rewards for participating in the previous mass test have been applied to the accounts on Singularity. 2 million free skillpoints on Singularity.

Clouds in EVE Online
CCP Darwin provides some technical background about the clouds which you can, for example, find in mission sites. The previous cloud system (prior to December, 2015) was sprite-based. The current is volumetric. Single volumetric clouds are faster to render than the old clouds were, but they don't scale as well when there are numbers of clouds in the scene....

Bubbles don't expire? I just always assumed they did. Huh.

Seems like maybe they should.

They seem to have solar bateries that make them constantly operational. *shrugs*

Maybe bubbles could be powered by fuel blocks. or in the future by some kind of fuel made from planet rings material

Requiring the Player / Character who deployed it to return and fuel it. Once fuel expires, it degrades like a Jet Can does.

Reason: Everything you do in EVE has a potential consequence. Potential here, cloakers wait for your return and bounce you.

Bubbles
if anything maybe just make anchor-able bubbles need to be re-anchored every x hours / days or expire that way if you take the time to refresh them you don't have to set them all up again.
