Implant names are confusing and could use a usability pass.

Pretty sure those are on the block for tiericide, but it's probably a ways down the list since Implants affect almost everything in the game.

If it's not on the list though it absolutely should be!

They already did this.
The implants literally say the name of the related skill, the slot number, and the bonus amount.

Seriously!

I would have put the "flavor" part of the name after the skill name but yeah, it's pretty much right there.

What would you do with them? Cause all the info is there.

I have no issue with it to me changing these names we may as well change all the ship names to say what they do as well. There just seemed to be confusion

Yes it's the "flavor" part that annoys me. They all look very similar, it's hard to find an implant, and near impossible to remember what it's called to find it again in future. You have to remember the slot and the flavour text, it's crazy difficult.

Honestly just search Powergrid Implant and you'll find what you need through the market. I don't think its necessary changing any of the implant names

Can you check your client if you have the right language settings ?

They are good to see and if you can“t read them check the details.

FFS, if you have a hard time remembering, write yourself a note or something. There's even a notepad feature in the damned game.

I'm a bit lost here. By implant does the OP mean hardwire? If so, they got a good renaming pass not that long ago. They are much easier to find now.

It's the flavour text for example.

How is someone supposed to know that...

Inherent Implants 'Noble' *
means
Armor *
?

or

Zainou 'Gypsy' *
means
EW * or Electronics *
?

or

Inherent Implants 'Squire' *
means
Capacitor *
?

There's just no way a person can know this?..

They would be much easier to use if they were named based on the attribute they affect and what percentage they affect it.

E.g.
Armor Rep Cycle 5%
ECM Cap Use 5%
Total Cap 5%

There's a second part to this relating to the percentage being at the end, so in my market UI I see:

Inherent Implants 'Squire' Capacitor Management EM-....
Inherent Implants 'Squire' Capacitor Management EM-....
Inherent Implants 'Squire' Capacitor Management EM-....
Inherent Implants 'Squire' Capacitor Management EM-....
Inherent Implants 'Squire' Capacitor Management EM-....
Inherent Implants 'Squire' Capacitor Management EM-....

I know I can resize it, but it's totally avoidable.

Stuff like "Inherent Implants 'Squire' *" doesn't mean Capacitor, it's the company that makes the implant followed by the brand name of that line of implants.

You may not like stuff like that but I think it makes the world feel more immersive and lived in than if the implants were just called "5% cap recharge implant".

It goes:

01
02
03
04
05
06

Referring to the percentage boost.

Halos make your ship glow, snakes makes them move in weird, wave like patterns, crystals make your ship transparent and slaves enslave other players, etc.

Really, as much as I like the lore-names, let's not pretend a new player could easily learn how they work just by looking at them. How would a new player get that Virtue-implants have something to do with scanning, for example?

Is it really all that likely that a new player is dropping a few hundred mil (or a few bil for high grades) on a pirate implant set in the first place? Without bothering to show info on any of them, or even scroll through the market windows? Or, y'know, ask someone?
