Considering we have a MTU (and variants) and Salvage drones, how difficult would it be to create a tech ii variant or another line that was a mobile Salvage unit? Would be nice to warp in to a site, drove my drones or fighters, drop the MSU, and let them do the work with ought having to have a dedicated Salvage ship.

Also damn it's 2017, can we get a mobile friendly forum?

The mtu is bad enough. Please no more.

Could we also get a mobile mission running unit. That way all you have to do wi warp to the mission pocket drop 3 mobile structures and then collect them in about 15 min or so.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

That's the 'Augmented' variant of the T2.

They're expensive, so make sure you don't deploy them without at least two SOE Mobile Repair Units.

Because people don't agree with you?

Would be a pretty screwed up place if everybody just agreed on everything.

I also agree with the others. As a game, there has to be things to do. If we turn everything progressively over to deployable structures or other automated processes, then why play?

As long as you put up sell orders or contracts, sure.

Set up a mobile hauling unit along with a mobile trading unit.

Not because of not agreeing, but because you throw an idea out there and you immediately get **** on like its the dumbest idea in the world.

Back in our day(Not so very long ago) we salvaged in catalysts and we liked it! If you were REAL uppity you did it in a Cane!

Now you kids have rebalanced loot tables, MTU's, and Noctis, and not COMPLETELY rubbish salvage drones, just mostly, and marauders with bastion....

Point is, I still remember when Arbalest heavy missile launchers were like, 14 mil a pop, Scout artillery about the same, and so forth.

Salvage and looting used to be a really viable 'career' choice, but with all these changes, it's pretty much been reduced to an almost PI level of deploy and forget side income.

That is true.
Back in the day I made a living of ninja salvaging and looting
Was enough to earn me a plex a month.
And it used to be fun scanning down mission runners and roam truh null. To get on the leftovers of big fights and ratters.
Nowadays it is as much fun as shooting rocks.

Unfortunately though, salvaging has become irrelevant and to some, a chore. The other day when I logged in, my corp mates asked if anyone wanted to Salvage their sites because they didn't really want to. So I ran through in my salvaging caracal after dropping three mtu's, one at each site, then salvaged each site. It was a good length of time to do it. Which made me think of this idea.

If you are carrier ratting or in a battleship trying to run through these sites, how nice it would be to drop a unit to eat up the Salvage while you go hit up another site.

Go spend 2 hours salvaging in a catalyst. Then you'll see.

So your position on this is that slavaging sucks and is boring, but chain ratting anoms in a perfectly safe sov null backwater system is both interesting and challenging?

Sorry dude, but this idea is all about LAZY and wanting stuff for zero effort. It's going to get carpet bombed w/ -1 based on its merit. The end game for these 'improvements' is that the game keeps getting 'better' until all the satisfaction of earning stuff in the game is gone.

Thats the thing, salvaging wasn't so much a chore when it was worth something. Instead people hunted mission runners down trying to steal their salvage and others would try to sell their services as salvagers.

Automated mechanics like the mtu made looting and salvaging so easy that the values dropped. That's what automation does. Thats what making anything easier does. Devalues it.

If no one you know wants to salvage cause its not worth their time then they don't have to. The loot prices will be better for it.
