Loaded up the launcher, saw a CSM video. clicked the link. Facebook.

I do not have, and will never have a facebook account. I shouldn't have to sign a contract with facebook, giving them rights to my whole life, just to keep up with eveonline news.

Please post it elsewhere.

You don't need to sign anything. Click the link. Watch the video.

Or don't.

No need to have a Facebook account. No need to give them any rights to your whole life.

You can keep up just fine by clicking the link, watching without being logged in and then closing the tab.

Talk about over reaction.

Facebook video is so painful to use... Maybe I'd have developed the sort of Stockholm Syndrome needed to be okay with it if I actually had a facebook page, dunno. Suppose I'm in the minority but I really wish they'd just upload it elsewhere instead.

lol unless you have something that removes "trackers" such as ghostery app for windows, companies and 3rd parties already have an extensive profile on you. Just for logging into the EVE online forums, there is two trackers which are Optimizely (Site Analytics) and Google Tag Manager (Essential).

Vast majority of sites ask for your permission to track your behavior online while there's also a sh*t ton that don't. I wouldn't worry about Facebook dude. I'm sure companies already have a pretty nice profile on what your favorite food is to your favorite bed time story as a kid.

So have fun on Facebook and create yourself an account.

I just deleted my facebook account. The next day.... I get an email notice that so and so posted a pic on facebook... I get an unsubscribe notice in the fine print. The next day I get another email notice that someone sent me a message.

I stopped liking Facebook when I read the Zynga, read Farmville, TOS and EULA that said basically: Hi!! We own your life now that you clicked accept!! Enjoy the ****** game!!

And here I thought CCP taking away my cookie was bad enough lol Twisted

I could only see the video for a fraction of a second, before a giant white box popped up demanding i sign in or sign up.
Surely these should be posted on youtube or vimeo or something as well?

You can click on the "Not Now" button and watch the video without logging in with FB. Problem solved.

And if you'd spent even more than 1 second jumping to outrage, you would have also seen a link below those buttons, letting you just dismiss the box (the 'not now' link).

Simple. Just takes a couple of seconds of observation, thought and emotional control.

Facebook live gives us a fast, easy and direct way to share content. If you don't like it, then don't use it.

However, the vast majority of our players are fine with watching a video on one of the world's most popular social media sites, so we'll continue to host content there.

At some point we'll probably add these videos to our YouTube channel, but there's no guarantee on when.
