They didn't tell you this beforehand?

An alpha account can only use his own race's ships and basically 90% of all skills are closed to you. Even really basic things like cloaking or advanced ships are completely forbidden. So the answer is, a full answer would take weeks and would basically list every skill and item in the game.

If I recall correctly, the only thing you CANNOT do as an Omega is dock up in your pod and pick a rookie ship (Corvette) of a different race.

Do yourself a favor and don't think of it as new stuff you get to have. Think of it as new stuff people are going to blow up or otherwise take away from you.

o7 and good luck out there!

You can train all skills to level V and fly all ships now. Once you've trained those skills, that is. See you in a few months.

You can also build anything you want once you've trained your manufacturing skills. See you in a few years.

It isn't that doom and gloom, as an Omega you will not be limited in what you can do. I am a jack of all trades kind of character.
I build stuff, dapple in pve, and pvp at times. I can try out some wacky fits on my ships. When fitting ships I am not limited in what modules I can use. I would suggest this if you do really understand the difference...go back to alpha stay there for a while....then you will see what many are talking about.

Remember how as an Alpha when you play as Amarr you are locked in as Amarr?

As Omega, no longer will you only fly Amarr, you can now fly Caldari too! And then you can be a filthy ****** and fly Balanced Legion ships! And in the next year or so even a Titan if you could convince an Alliance to let you fly one.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.
