Number of Invention/Science jobs bugged?

According to the interface, I can do 9 'science' jobs. I'm running 4 invention jobs right now and it says I'm at 7/9 available. What am I missing? When I go through the filters, it doesn't show 3 other jobs anywhere else. I am doing research with one agent; does that have anything to do with this?

In case you couldn't tell, I'm fairly new at this industry stuff...

Research agents are unrelated.

Science jobs are Copy, Invent, ME research, TE research. Check that you haven't got any of those running anywhere in the universe.
It's not uncommon to start jobs and forget about them for years.

You can see all jobs from anywhere in the cluster, you don't need to travel to see jobs show up in the UI.

Like I said, I'm new to this industry thing.

I figured it out, though. My corp, which is under my alt's control, has 3 jobs in queue that were initiated by me while I was in the corp. So I just need to fly to that station and deliver the jobs. (low skilled, have to be in same system...)

Yup, that would do it.

You don't need to fly down, any corp member with enough permissions (and CEO definitely will have enough permissions) can deliver the jobs.
Only you and the CEO can cancel jobs, but any corp member who can create jobs can deliver anyone's jobs.

Wasn't a permissions issue, was a skill level issue. Current CEO is a debrained alpha placeholder so I did have to fly to the system and deliver the 3 jobs (in pure blind, yay). Problem is solved now.
