I really liked the idea of faster skill training time, but what else comes with it that is of advantage to me in game versus an alpha player?

You mean aside from having access to the full game? Um, I guess you also get to queue more than 2 days of skills at a time.

And you can sleep easier knowing you are putting takeaway on the table of a tired CCP programmer!

Hopefully I have access to new mining and industry features. I want to get into that part of Eve.

To get an idea you could read the gazillion threads asking for more free stuff for alphas. Or you could try to remember your life before the upgrade when the majority of skills and ships was painted orange because "omega".

In fact I would expect any intelligent life form to ask this question before forking out the money. But that's just me. If you don't mind the money you could perhaps enjoy the thought of keeping a few developers fed and warm.

Not only do you now have access to new skillsets that allow you to train into for new ships and equipment, but you have the ability to earn enough revenue every month to PLEX your account. Good luck!

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

You can train all skills to level V and fly all ships now. Once you've trained those skills, that is. See you in a few months.

You can also build anything you want once you've trained your manufacturing skills. See you in a few years.

All of it. Nothing is closed to you anymore. Ships, skills, modules, etc... the space is your oyster.

I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors! I think it looks boring, but I am also intrigued by industry.

I used to make drugs, and it was FUN! But now that they are legalized, they aren't as profitable as they used to be. For that reason, it would be hard to go back.

Now I sell slaves.

You dont really get to train faster. You get to train at the normal speed all trial accounts used to train at.
The 2x training speed is a lie. All accounts paid/trial used to train that fast and they cut it in half for alphas. Even though alphas are yhe new trial accounts.

You are paying for the old training speed, not a faster speed. Although it will be twice as fast as what you currently get. The distinction is worth noting if only "just so you know" and are not duped by a misleading 2x badge on the skills sheet.

Then you are in luck. Industry and mining are all about complex skill paths that can only be done by omega clones.
I have 55 million SP and I am currently training very long level V industry skills ....... so that I can research material efficiency on a capital construction part blueprint.

After that, I begin another long train for mining mexocrit. it is months away.

The other thing about eve is that you will find yourself needing other skills in order to move around to the places you want to be to use the skills you have in mining and industry.

You will not be bored for skill training opportunities in Eve industry. On the contrary, it is so exciting that you might start to feel a little bit scammed.

I mean, it's funny, right? CCP make a game for scammers, and they scam folks with their subscription model! Funny. So funny.

If you're looking to get into industry then Omega is almost a requirement. I highly recommend looking at Eve University's class library on Industry and Manufacturing as well as the Wiki page on basic Industry. There's also a general category page, in case you're looking to get into something specific that isn't covered on the general page.

Industry can be super rewarding financially but it's very much about planning, preparation, and spreadsheets as opposed to pew-pew (though it can be a great way to finance your pew-pew). There are also various guides on Youtube that you can search for. If you've seen the "This is EVE" trailer and the industry bit at 1:58 that's actually from an actual video on Youtube.

Welcome to the other 90% of the game, enjoy your stay and have fun! Big smile
