There are none. It probably doesn't qualify as a 'beach' by common parlance, but it's a cove in the far north of Matar, at the edge of Gripdjur land. There's two actually, but one is always clear of ice and used as a port for seafaring vessels, while this one is clear of habitation and the visible touch of man. It is... beautiful.

In the summer, the peaks surrounding it are still covered in snow while the valley leading to it is green as you can not believe, until you get to the rocky bare lands leading to the ever frozen wastes and peaks. At sea level, there's no sand. Just stone. Weathered and etched dark stone shining wet from the relentless assault by the cold and dark waters of the northern seas. Even in the depths of summer the water is cold and home largely to blubbery prey and quick predators. Sometimes they are both.

In the winter, the cove itself freezes, for kilometers. Past the horizon, if you're at sea level.

It's one of the harshest and most beautiful places in New Eden to me, and it is where the Shaman, Volur and even sometimes the Elders of the Gripdjur go when they need to regain their connection to all parts of our land. To the spirits of the land, the mountains, the skies and the waters. To the dark and the light, the cold and the warm. It is a place where there is only you and everything that makes up the Gripdjur world.

I once spent a month in that cove, living off what I could kill, connecting with the world of my clan and every spirit therein that was not that of man. It's of course a lot less dramatic than it sounds. I was well equipped and none of this is difficult as long as you have patience and basic training.

It is stark, savage, unyielding and uncompromising beauty in a way that will stay with me for the rest of my days. One day I hope I can show someone else that place. Someone who has earned it.

This is a question for the non-Matari out there. Those without our beliefs and ways. Have any of you ever connected with the spirit of a place? Be it dirtside or up here in the void?

I've avoided this pleasant and productive exchange for quite some time. Many time's I've had an answer but declined when sniped by someone else. This one is worth a defined effort and I hope by the time I'm finished I can come up with a good enough question.

Have I ever connected with the spirit of a place?

Oh yes. The obvious answer would be my time in K-MGJ7 where we paid in blood and treasure to kill off those who would dare trespass in our space. We made billions and killed plenty to earn that right. -Very fitting for the space involved.

An answer I prefer these days is looking back to a world I spent many years upon. On Avair IV, my father had many lessons, one was that we should take advantage of natural patterns and processes. I can proudly say that I can shovel **** with the best of them.

Most of that world is wasted, on palaces to vain egos. But there I learned the value of a hard days work. Looking back I now know the spirit of Avair. Once a year I return to that world, I bend my back and help in the harvest. My neighbors dismiss me as an eccentric (at best), but in ten years I have risen higher than them all. I will continue to bend my back once a year, as my neighbors and their families turn to dust. That is the spirit of this place.

Amarr is not about opulence, and glory. It's about hard work. Some would say the hardest work of all.

Oh, and one time I crashed on a wooden bench in a Sebiestor shrine after an all night bender and I also quit PIE. The customs officers literally told me it was my funeral. I woke up the next day on Ava Starfire's couch and I felt so darn free!

Now for the hard part... a question for a stranger...

Sanity. To be always felicitous every time all the time no matter what one will have to have lost all semblance of sanity and awareness. After all, the universe around us will forever be like that of an ocean, full of currents, tides, calamitous storms, rogue waves, utter calmness and etc. To be able to be happy every time all the time no matter how smooth the sailing or how perilous the waves, one has to be completely insane.

Do you know anyone who is like this?

Yo! Oceans, currents, tides, winds? Those are my things. These days I deal with capsuleer chores, it's lame. But I'm married to Ava ******* Starfire. I get to go home whenever I want to warm bed in cold ass Mikramurka (and oh... brothers let me tell you it's ******* cold there).

But yeah, life is great, the waves are positive, the universe is an ocean and I'm just a captain of one of the many vessels afloat. I'm happy, all the time. My son rocks and my wife is hot as hell.

By the way I saw another IGS post about people everyone misses. I'm Ava's husband and I've relayed all of your love to her. Spirits bless you all. It means a lot to both of us, and I'm sure she'll reach out to all of her "fans" when she returns to the capsule.

Since there was no question, I chose to answer to this:

..with an image, that is saying thousand words. This is Amralis City. Its located on planet Funtanainen IX, region consists of few islands.

Its a more detailed map of region.

The big Island (Amra) has surface of 10 380 km².
The smaller (Verolia) has 550 km².

For the most part the best in capsuleer life is the same as the best in baseliner life. Good food, good sex, meaningful social connections, a pleasant physical environment.

As capsuleers we have access to other forms of sensuality however that are unimaginable to others. The release as a volley of light missiles launches, the gentle pulse of a shield emitter's regeneration cycle, the sinking sensation as one is pulled through a wormhole, and let's not forget the glory of emerging victorious from (im)mortal combat with our fellow empyreans.

What is your preferred form of interstellar travel? Stargate, jump drive or wormhole?

Well if I could choose, a pinpoint controlled wormhole would be ever so convenient.

I do not favour one over the other. The experiences of being inside or outside the capsule are quite distinctively different.

Ablative or reactive armour?

Reactive. Ablative just feels like caving in. I like to feel like an active participant in my own not-dying.

If you had a Drifter battleship, complete with superweapon, what would be the first thing you'd do?

Hoist the black flag and slit some throats.

Or just try to reverse engineer the ship. Then build more and then profit from it PLUS hoisting the black flag and slit throats.

Is this related to ARC operations?

Favorite way to eat noodles? With my mouth. Or if you're asking what sort of noodles, pan-fried noodles, ideally those that are greasy and were done at high heat for a little bit of char.

Related to ARC operations? Nooo. Nooooooo. We've never come close to retrieving an intact Drifter battleship. Subsystems? Sure, a few, and they're subject of extensive research. But there's far too little information to render them the least bit useable.

If you were compelled to retire to a life of luxury and relaxation, what would you do with your time?

Probably the same thing I had always done. If CONCORD revokes my capsuleer license and takes my ships (read: waifu) away, I can't be said to be living a life of luxury and relaxation, can I?

But if by 'retire' you do mean 'revoke the license', I guess I just retire to an industrial installation somewhere and fabricate biomechanical machinery. That's something I can do with my wife, at any rate.

Will you willingly give away your capsuleer license?

Yes. It won't always be important to have it active.

Depends on the use.

Is there really a good point in answering every single question that is not your own with low effort responses and even more low effort questions?
