Hello,

please give me an advice:

What is "the best" ship for running level 4 missions in high sec?

It depends on what you want to achieve. There is no "best ship" per say; what there is is based on your skillset, play style, where you plan to run missions and last but not least, budget. It's like saying what's the best car to drive on the highway...

As a general rule, a drone fit Domi can be pretty easy. It's by no means the fastest, but pretty forgiving. Ravens are easier as well due to the damage type options of missiles. Once you start getting into gunboats, it's not just skills that are important, it's also your personal skills as far as how to fly the ship.

There is no all around "best" ship, to repeat what Arthur said.

It all depends on your race, the skills you have trained, and where you're at with EVE. (not meaning a location)

When I first started running L4s, the Raven for me was the best ship I had. Later, I got into a CNR, and it became my best ship. Today, I run a Golem. Today, it is my best ship.

Machariel, it's just so good. Fast, high damage, good projection. These advantages combine to make the mach the ultimate blitz ship. very few missions where it doesn't do well.

Barghest is a bit worse than the mach on most things, but probably has some of the best projection among all ships with cruise missiles. Perfect for blitzing the blockade, can MJD and snipe the spawn trigger BS and not take any damage. Can also do some interesting things with RHML if you don't mind the 35s reload.

raven/domi, yea sure they work, but are like riding a tricycle in comparison.

Whichever Battleship best matches your skill set.

You need a Tengu / Bs for storyline / blitzing missions and you need also several other ships for Anomic agents / Team Burners / Base missions.

I do Anomic agents / Team burners / Bases with 2 characters.

All team burners done in a Garmur + Griffin
Sansha agent with Wolf (can be done solo) or take a second ship (Worm, Daredevil, Hawk, Harpy, Wolf) to make it quicker
Blood agent with Wolf (can be done solo) or take a second ship (Worm, Daredevil, Hawk, Wolf) to make it quicker
Serpentis agent with Harpy and Worm, Daredevil, Hawk, Enyo (you can choose whatever combo you like)
Guristas agent with Daredevil (can be done solo with perfect skills) + Worm, Harpy, Hawk (whatever damaging ship you like)
Angel agent with Daredevil + Hawk (but you can use any other ship you like)

Blood base done with Gila
Serpentis base done with Cerberus or Deimos
Angel Base done with Vigilant
Gurista base not worth doing it.

FRIENDSHIP is the most powerful ship in the game.

That being said, make some friends, get on comms, talk it out with them. Historically you'll get a bunch of eye rolling fits worth 100s of milliions to over a billion on this forum. The norm is that the max/min 'experts' love these threads and the practical guys are out actually running missions and don't bother playing eve forums.

You'll get fits with thing that start with 'pith X' and 'core X' which is just nonsense.

I would say the easiest starter ship is the raven, then once you get that settled in nicely you can train other skill sets to get into that dream machine that someone is sure to tell you is necessary to do things correctly.

1. Get in a raven and get things moving - running missions at less than optimal (but running them) so you have an income stream and have some time to figure out what would be best for you.
2. Get skills (primary and support) for dream mission running ship
3. Purchas ship (after good skill base is in place)
4. Profit
5. Get bored and pile isk high
6. Put lots of silly bling on your dream ship.
7. Get ganked for dank loots
8. Laugh it off and purchase another and keep going
9. Eventually get bored and leave Eve for something more entertaining...... OR get into pvp and have a great time for a long time (note: the pvp phase may be entered at any point in your Eve career)

When I am paying attention and blowing stuff up I use a Machariel because it is just a giant frigate. When I am L4ing for lulz I use a Fleet Typhoon with Cruise missiles and just orbit around blowing crap up all day long.

Marauders probably. More tank then you will ever need for lvl4s, which frees up slots you then can fill with modules for mobility, dps, projection and looting/salvaging.

For T1 battleships: Maelstrom, Dominix, Raven, and Typhoon are all capable machines.

For Pirates / Faction: The Machariel is a beast, one of my favourites. Vindicator is another strong contender. Barghest gets an honourable mention. I use a Navy Megathron on the way to a marauder, any navy battleship should be able to tank a L4.
