Looking For: Prophecy PVE (Sentry Snipe Fit)

Dear Pilots,

I have been doing some research looking for Prophecy fits to run L3 missions. I am interested in the style which is to stay a distance away using Sentry Drones to snipe away while using lasers to pick off anything that might come within range.

However I can't find a fit according to what I hope to fly. Can anyone help me with a fit? Any help is much appreciated!

p/s: I did play with some fittings in PYFA but I don't seem to piece together something nice..

Tell us when you find one.

Here's a hint, the Prophecy is not a sentry boat. The Myrmidon can be.

I see.. But just to play contrarian here, I did read some comments about using Sentries in the Prophecy and how it does "work". How true are those statements?

In your opinion, should I stick with normal combat drones for Prophecy then?

Thanks!

You can of course use the Prophecy as a sentry boat (not sure why elitatwo is saying that), yet id rather use both: sentries, and regular drones.

With 75 bandwidth, and 225 drone bay, you can stick one or even two sets of sentries. If you are far away from the NPCs, the instant projected damage is definitely worth it. For close range, you would rather use 2 Heavy drones + 2 medium drones + 1 light drone, to get the maximum possible DPS out of your available bandwidth.

Here is an example fit, with T2 modules:

Quote:
[Prophecy, Unnamed loadout]
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Medium Armor Repairer II
Damage Control II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Adaptive Nano Plating II

10MN Afterburner II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II
Large Compact Pb-Acid Cap Battery

Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Rapid Light Missile Launcher II
Drone Link Augmentor I

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Medium Drone Speed Augmentor I

You have to switch scripts for your Omnis, for the longest range go optimal (check the ranges in-game), taking the correct sentries according to the NPCs resistances. If you are using your regular drones, put on the tracking scripts to help hitting the smaller targets. Ive put a speed rig on to lower the travel time or your drones.

I have to say, this is a great fit. It is what I'm looking for.

Yes, it is not the optimal Drone boat; but with so much skills trained in Amarr ships for me, this is the best option for me to take into L3 missions currently.

Thank you!

You could try an Omen with 1.75 sentry drones. Or a gungoat like the Harbinger.

Why would you say that the prohecy isnt a sentry boat ?

It's a drone boat with way enough bandwidth to hold, and use sentries. Nulli Secunda (RIP) used to have have a sentry Prophecy doctrine at some point, making use of the high resists and good alpha, while keeping a really low pricetag.

At least when you make a statement like this, you should probably explain the rationale behind it. It's not helping the newer players understanding the whys & hows.

There are two things which play into this.

First, I am usually on my own and if you really want to sentry-snipe, I would at least have the bandwidth to have 4 of them.

The Prophecy can launch 3 at once and depending on your fit you can fit railguns, beam lasers or heavy missiles for range projection or do something else with the high-slots, up to you.

Second, it is kinda sad that sentry drones seem to be the only drones in the game, which promotes server versus server gameplay and server versus player gameplay.

You won't learn anything from that, you will always keep being a "victim" and you will have a hard time learning to proper pvp.

On a sidenote, I tried my Curse for ratting and she only uses medium drones. Even with "just medium drones" she is quite capable.

What you can do on a pvp fit is having 3 different types of damage "wings" for damage on the Prophecy, with one wing being 2x heavy drones, 2x medium drones and a 2 drone for maximum damage per bandwidth. But that's more of a brawling fit, which is kinda out of fashion at the moment.

@elitiatwo @tung yoggi,

I appreciate both of your inputs really. I do believe each of you came in a different angle and different interpretation of what I was looking for. Tung might have understood better the underlying meaning of what I was looking for - which is more style over effectiveness while running mission at this point due circumstances to i.e skills, preference. I would very much prefer to train up a Gallante drone boat but it's going to take very long (which I am already planning for). Currently I have my Amarr ship, Drone & Laser skills points higher than the rest - so it makes sense for me to look for an Amarr drone boat to run L3. I don't have alot of ISK so I thought with my current situation, a Prophecy makes the most sense.

However I also take into consideration Elitiatwo's inputs. At least it gives me an idea that a Prophecy isn't the most efficient ship for what it does. I gotten some useful insights and it also confirms my thoughts as well.

Cheers!
