Hey everybody. I'm a new player to EVE and I've been doing a lot of solo ratting, but I'd like to get into solo PvP. I'm looking for advice on what kind of ship I should start looking into and what I should start training. Any advice on fittings would also be greatly appreciated. Fly safe.

Frigate with tech II weapons and faction ammo. Which frigate and weapons depends on the style you like.
I prefer scram kiting. I fly an executioner a lot but there are plenty of different ships. My suggestion is watch some videos and see what looks like the most fun to you.
Navigation skills seem like the least trained by most new pvpers I have encountered so make sure that you are okay there.
Once you've picked a ship join FW and go fight. Don't worry about skill points you will lose a lot and win some. Once you start to think you have got the hang of it some one will come in and kill you in about 3 seconds. Record you fights and learn how they did that or ask them most of the time they love to tell you.
You will have people tell you to pick your fights. Listen to an extent but there is more to learn from a pilot with 3000 kills than from one with 3000 losses.
The most important thing I can tell you is don't be scared. I played off and on for years and was terrified to go to low sec. Then when I finally went there and kill some one Eve became a whole new game.
