Has CCP mentioned this anywhere?

Looks like the Dust forums are still running. If they plan to eventually bring Dust to the PC and relaunch it I don't see why they would wipe current accounts. But It would be interesting to get an answer to your question from CCP. Try asking your question on the Dust forums.

Atm there's no intention to... names are still locked, but who knows...

If Project Nova is cancelled they'll wipe them...

I hope CCP Rattati makes some progress...

Just another forum alt...

If even they do it at some point i believe it would be completely different group of players.... Then having lots of names locked up will only hurt new players.

I dont see how. They promised to carry sp over or reimburse veteran dust players in someway. If they wipe names they would have no way of knowing who's who when making new accounts unless they mailed out veteran codes or something to use for new account creation that gives us access to our old characters sp.

There's no intention to do this, as of now. Smile

Do legion. move on.

They're keeping the names on hold so people will be able to transfer them over to Project Nova, ya dingus.

I could be wrongbuti thought there was also some issue with intellectual property (IP) and the fact that DUST was a joint Sega/CCP venture. Now Sega probably doesn't care all that much, but if one of their IP lawyers sees a way to make money selling the rights back to CCP, you know they will. The end result is that it's a bit more complicated than if CCP was the sole IP owner.

Ah, that, my friend, is the ominous curse of the Forums. So much swafferdonking, sneaky back-stabbing, and other forms of general shenanigans, meta-gaming, and devilry have occurred in Eve's history that the common Eve Player has developed a near-phobia-like level of suspicion. So sensitive to the everyday actions of one player taking advantage of another, less informed or misguided, that we have learned over time to question everything one states regardless of that statement's merit or believably.

Just relax and take a deep breath. See? Don't you feel better already?

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."
