so my faction standings with the gallente fed are -4.6 not great yah i know. i want to be able to do the gallente epic arc at lvl 4 provided by the impetus corp. however its a strange little coincidence then that i cant access lvl 2 missions when ive got 5.96 with the lvl 1 agent and 2.45 with the corporation. this has always been a buggering issue for me and frankly im a bit POed i havent figured it out. so does anyone know why im unable to acess the lvl 2 security missions...is it because of my fed standings or what?

Yes, you need to be at -2 or higher faction standing to access lv2 and higher missions regardless of your corp and agent standing.

yep, lvl 1 missions are always accessible, yet for hifger levels you already need at least -2 faction standing and the corresponding corp standing. they also have agents in non-native space so that you can do missions without fear of faction or whichever police not shooting you.
dont worry, getting out of negative is not hard, since standing gain is proportional to difference between 10 and your standing.

You've probably found something like this by now but there's a tonne of rep repair plans like this to help you get back into a faction's good graces.

One thing I don't remember seeing in "the plan" is that you can start off with doing the SoE arc (if you haven't done it in the last three months) and choosing the lowest faction as the one you want to boost in mission 48 of that arc. That is a nice 8-8.5% boost for that faction, before you start in on the other activities mentioned in "the plan".

if your standings are so bad that faction police hunts you, you might not be able to finish the sisters' arc. they send you to every faction space.

It's definitely mentioned in the 'Options' section of 'The Plan'.

Epic Mission Arcs

Epic Arcs can be completed every 3 months for a large Faction standing increase with little to no derived standings towards the other Factions.

The Level 1 Sisters of Eve Epic Arc is available to all regardless of standings. Completing this arc requires travel into all Factions high security systems. Having a Personal Security Status above -2.00 (-1.99 or higher) and all Empire Faction standings above -5.00 (-4.99 or higher) is advised. The Level 1 SoE arc allows the player to choose 1 of the 4 major Empire Factions (Amarr, Caldari, Gallente, Minmatar) at the end. This can be used to help raise and or balance out lop-sided Faction standings.
