Right now its extremely challenging to find haulers who will move items to citadels, as most haulers are (rightfully) extremely cautious as they can lose billions of ISK if the citadel ACL is updated. This is impacting trade and industry, and makes it unnecessarily hard for mini-jitas to establish themselves - one of the stated goals of the Citadel release!

CCP have proposed a dropbox which will allow contracts to be delivered without docking at the citadel. This addresses concerns about enemies docking in your station, while ensuring that there is little more risk delivering a courier contract to an upwell structure than there is to an NPC station.

Even with a drop box contracts will still be exploitable (gank fleet sitting at 0 on citadel waiting for delivery), but that's a more reasonable risk for haulers to grapple with than a one click ACL update.

Is the dropbox feature still planned for delivery, and what is the timeline for delivery of it?

iirc it was either at eve vagus or an 07 show when they talked about how it would be a year b4 we saw another structure as they were now going to focus on functionality of existing ones. unbumpable tether and access to structure hangers w/o docking beinng among them

np it really bugs me how many differant places CCP makes you go to get information. rather than putting it all in a dev blog (or at least links in a dev blog) you have to go to Dev blogs EvE's forums youtube twitch and reddit to get updated on everything.

I beg to differ because the two game mechanics you mentioned do exactly the opposite of each other: While the citadel asset safety makes less loot drop and explode the drop box will make MORE stuff drop and explode. At the moment all you have to do to scam a hauling contract of the collateral is deny exit to the citadel. With the dropbox you will have to do it the old fashioned way: Blow up the hauler. Making ISK just by switching docking rights on and off is exactly the risk averse behavior you seem to loath so much. And the dorpbox will fix that.

Could someone find out where they talked about this. I don't remember it at Vegas, so it must have been at a o7 show. I normally keep on top of this stuff. The structure post on the update links wasn't move tell like December.

Well, the only thing that has me really pissed is that, when the pushed backing the drilling platform, there should have been a note attached to it with a why. All I saw was "coming winter 2017" one week and the next "coming fall 2017" with no reason why it was moved. The update site (from one of the blue post I read of late) is were CCP plans on putting all the info at. Dev Blogs are going mostly bye bye because they are just massive unediteable walls of text.

Only thing I would like to know/see is an update in writing of why the time table change.

I have learned, CCP is like 5 years behind the curve(,) if not more.

But we don't love New Eden because it is perfect. We love it because it is EVE, (with) all the bumps and grumps.
