Can you buy any character customizations with ask or do you have to pay for other game currency with official currency? I know you have to pay for faction jackets with other currency but is there anything else we can buy?

Also, do we have to buy ship skins before we can use them?

Thanks!

Many of the vanity items come from the New Eden Store and are purchased with the Aurum currency. You can convert a PLEX to Aurum, purchase Aurum directly from Account Management, or purchase Aurum Tokens with ISK on the marketplace. Once players have redeemed these items in-game, they can be bought and sold for ISK in-game. There is an entire section of the market devoted to various apparel that you can browse at your leisure.

As for ship SKINs, yes you must first purchase a SKIN license (the SKIN item), either through the market or through the New Eden Store, and then activate it. Once that SKIN license has been activated for your character you may apply that SKIN to your ship.

some items are no longer available through the store.
the eyepiece i have is one such,
there is a finite number of them and as such they trend upwards in price as the supply dwindles.
mine (last i checked) was going for around 6 billion

You can change your appearance as much as you want, anytime you want.

If you want to change your body though, you need to obtain a character remodel certificate, which can be purchased for aurum from the store, or from another player on the market.

Fashion items can be purchased from the store, or the market. Some are limited edition, like my Silvershore Greatcoat, which last I looked was valued at 15 billion ISK or more (I paid 1 billion for it).

CCP often hands-out codes for limited edition items at fan gatherings. Sometimes the codes are part of special deals, like included in the fanfest ticket swag pack.

The Sisters of EvE also have a store for Project Discovery rewards.
