"We won’t allow Alphas to extract skills in the Alpha set"

Hi. I have an old unsubscribed character with some juicy SP to extract. I was searching for any restrictions on alpha clone extraction and found this in the post-CSM roundup:

"We won’t allow Alphas to extract skills in the Alpha set"

What exactly does that mean? Any skill trainable by an alpha clone is unextractable?

If you review the above dev blog, they list the skills each Alpha can train. Note there was some skill adjustments since then. That the statement you are posting about means is that you can not extract skill points on the those skills to a point lower then the maximum trainable.

For example: You have Science trained to 5 as an Omega, you lapse into Alpha. You decided to extract skills to sell. You can only extract Science down to Level 4, since that is the maximum that skill can be trained when you are an alpha clone.

Makes sense. Otherwise any old character could be an endless source of skill injectors without ever subscribing. Extract alpha skills, train alpha skills for free, repeat.

As an Alpha (unsubscribed player), you can extract any skillpoints above and beyond the limits listed in that dev blog, but you cannot extract those Alpha skills.

As an Omega (if you subscribe), you can extract whatever you want, including all the Alpha skills. It's actually possible to extract all the Alpha skills (just keep 5 million skillpoints in a different race's ships and weapons), then go Alpha and train them up, then go Omega for 1 month and extract them again.

EDIT: Just realized that I was able to extract the alpha skills because I was an Omega account at the time.
