Eve the second genesis should reboot as LCG.

Eve 2nd Genesis ccg failed as a ccg. Collectible card games seldom make it. However, if you modeled Eve off the living card game model perhaps that would work. You cannot legally call it an LCG. Still a box game where you get all the cards. Nothing random. No rares...

Anybody else agree?

Hehh, never knew that was a thing. But I'd rather prefer your idea backwards. A ccg where one has to tear ship cards to pieces if they are taken down - the opponent gets any module or cargo cards attached.

They should make a digital version too. Maybe playable ingame, as a more peaceful way to resolve conflicts. Big smile

Get in contact with Steve Jackson, and make an Eve Munchkin edition.

After all, Eve is pretty much like Munchkin.

I don't think a card game or otherwise would ever work for EVE. It has an older playerbase than most MMOs, and IMO people stop playing things like that the older they get. Also, the big draw to EVE is it's a sandbox game. How do you do that with a card game?

Make your own boards, and cards? Actually this is what I am working on, slowly.

I will try to encompass rules to design them, But there will be some ready for play.

Screw the boxed games - CCP wants to make money from card games it should be an in game mini one. Remember FFIX. Had a cool card game. Get cards randomly off NPCs, purchase them with Aurum, from missions wager against NPCs and players for isk, modules or even entire ships / injectors / plex

This would be the easiest way for CCP to make a decent buck off it. Would be easier to get traction, then if you get critical mass in the in game cards then allow a trade in for real actual cards for either shipping and handling or an in game aurum fee to get the cards made once there are enough people interested to make a production run.

My sister gave me "The Great War" cards for a christmas gift years ago.Blink

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Funny you mention that! I too am working on an EVE card game. Got the rules nailed down, just need to make some sample cards to play-test it.

Here is the prototype card. I think I nailed down the relevant information, but the icons still need some work. Getting the right artwork is the tricky part. I have a few ship cards designed as well, and I'm using Jeremy from CPPC to design them.

I think EVEs unofficial card game is cards against humanity.

Mine will be not strictly card game, but it will include little characters placed on board. Characters will have inventory and they could battle other characters on board. There will be initial objectives to accomplish, but players could make their own and make groups and even battle against the board, not knowing what could happen to them.

It will be completely free. I made rules myself.

Ah, so a board game? Or maybe a Pen&Paper type RPG?

Developing a game like that based in EVE is not without issues. On one hand, characters in EVE are purely measured in mental attributes since capsuleers are cerebral creatures and don't give much importance to physical traits. Of course basing a game on DUST characters is more grounded on the common principles of a proper RPG, with weapons and the like.

If you ever release the rules to the public, I'd love to have a crack at analyzing the rules!

I want to keep them simple, but still entertaining. Yes, I had on mind something like RPG system but I wanted to spice it up with card game to give additional storytelling even without GM.
