Current Alpha tier is quite fine IMO. You can check all the aspects of the game, but cannot master anything to a degree you might decide Alpha is good enough for you and not pay. Just some minor tweaks:
-> Change import/export restriction on PI (or do I read it wrong and it does make sense?) = alpha could get materials out of their lone PI base they set up, but not import anything for higher tier production. Otherwise why set it up if you can't get anything out of it?
-> make gallente and minmatar special haulers to require industrial 2 to prevent alpha access to them.

But well, with all these Alpha, Beta etc wishes that keep popping up, I am posting my own suggestion too, because why not:

Yet another suggestion for tier between alpha and omega:

Tier would be restricted to use the same skills as alpha, but could train all omega skills (at omega speed, with omega queue). Costing say half as much as the ordinary subscription - one plex would give you 2 such training months.
Unlike other suggestions, this one is at least easy to balance, as whatever changes you make to alphas will show up here immediately - if Alpha works as intended, this middle tier will too.

This option would be good for people that don't currently have time to play, yet would like to keep skilling up for the time they do. It might also make some consider grabbing this tier when they finish their alpha skills - to first train for BS and guns before getting omega and actually fly those ships.

It will be obviously (ab)used for alt training and everyone would expect 2nd and 3rd char training at these prices too. I don't see a problem with that, but CCP might :)

i would greatly benefit from your PI suggestion but i won't agree to it, people are gonna abuse this for sure. :)

PI fix goes like this: When account lapses, all command centers but one get inactive. That one operates as lvl1 = you might have to remove a bunch of stuff to have it working again.
So, no difference between fresh Alpha and lapsed Omega.

SP farming as extractors, or chars to sell? Yeah, chars to sell could become more common. But the first one is better done using simply Alphas as those are completely free except for the plex when you want to do extraction - you just have to use twice as many for same SP/h. If you have extraction farm with PI on those chars for extra passive income, then you will require Omega anyway. Yes, instead of 3 plex/month to extract from 3 chars in this scenario you would require just 2. But why would you have 3 chars on the same account for skill extraction if you can make 3 accounts and possibly have 9 chars doing PI (and make you completely insane with all the planets you need to control now).

As for industrials, why would you give industrials to everyone but not frigs for example?
Yes, ORE getting those ships would be better, but it would require lore, change of T2 and lead to tons of people bitching that they trained for Gallente Industrial 5 for PI and now have to train ORE. This "make required skill on 4 ships 2 instead of 1" is 0 work and makes all Alphas as good for industry (nerfing especially Gallente).

i cant imagin how this would affect the price of injectors but any devaluation of SP is not good
