Hello eve community,

I have been a active player back in 2013 and i enjoyed it a lot, after i started working i stopped playing since i simply did not think i would have time to play. Now i am doing a new study and i find myself to have some spare time and i am considering to start playing agian but with a new character and with another starting faction. The only thing i am questioning is if the game is still worth to start as a new player in this stage since the game is pretty old now... i have seen that the game still haves an active player base with about 35.000+ daily which is very nice.

What do you guys think ? And is there a corporation interested to take me in as i start learning the game agian ?

I remember that i did not like the game that much when playing alone for to long i really liked the social interaction in this game when i played it in 2013.

Thanks for reading!

worth it for the new new-player-experience,
once youve run through that though its probably better to pick up the old character.

the only reasons for a brand spanking new character are
1) new identity , reputations matter here and grudges last.
2) sex change

I really like to see how it is with the other factions, this current character is with the Amarr and i would like to try the Gelante or the Minmitar. Do i need to make a new character to fly faction based ships or can i use this one instead ? (my old character)

Is it also possible to change player name ?

If you are Alpha, you will be restricted to a number of your race's ships. When you go Omega (paid subscription), these limitations are lifted, and you may train and fly any hull you want.

Character name cannot be changed, though.

only if you remain an alpha clone,
free accounts are race locked.

if you subscribe you are free to buy and train ship skills for any and all of the factions

Let me clarify; Alphas can BUY, but not use, anything in the game. They can only use things in the game that they are allowed to train the minimum prerequisites for. Therefore, an Alpha could theoretically trade Omega goods and make cash off it, even though they themselves cannot use those goods.

Thanks for all the answers thus far!
I will consider sticking with this character but will go with a new one to experience the new 'intro' so that i relearn the game and see what is new and such..

After that i will consider subscribing to eve again to gain access to all features.

Thanks! Couple of days in now and i am enjoying it to the fullest i think. The corp is helping me out a lot with explaining new things that i did not experienced when i played in 2013, i am almost starting with exploration when the skills are done training. Thus far i think i am enjoying EVE way more that back in 2013, probably because of a social active corp Cool

Thanks! One thing that suprizes me is that the eve community is very friendly and welcoming, my corp is helping me out a lot with exploration a the moment, which is something new for me. And i bet there are other very nice corps out there as well that welcome 'new' players as there own
